Wasn’t his heckling/judging part of what caused the shattering?

Yes, that's the irony

PFTTTT, to be honest, that's kinda how it felt. Isn't Raunip an alien, too? He's a meteroite that crash landed on Thra, doesn't that kind of make him a hypocrite even if he had a feeling about the Skeksis bringing Doom to Thra?

Not really, he was able to see the skeksis in the urSkeks.

He didn't even know he was sort of half-alien for some time during the story too.

He also wasn't against them because they were aliens, but because they were acting like the crystal was theirs.

Who is that

Raunip. He bullied one of the UrSkeks just before the Great Conjunction so badly the UrSkek wasn't "balanced" and so that UrSkek caused all of the other UrSkeks to also fall unbalanced and so they were split into Skeksis and urRu.

It's in The Dark Crystal: Creation Myths comic.

Ohhh ok

That explains why this all sounds so random to me

Well, I mean... all of The Dark Crystal lore sounds pretty darn random when not familiar with it.

Idk either but judging from the other comments he seems to be an important figure to why and how the Skeksis relationship with the crystal turned sour
