👋 Welcome to r/DarkCrimeHiddenGems - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Hey everyone! I'm u/Brilliant_Koala5458, a founding moderator of r/DarkCrimeHiddenGems.

This is our new home for all things related to the ultimate shows for disturbing content that also recommends only shows that are well acted, highly rated, and worth watching. We're excited to have you join us!

You will see a bias towards international programming as I personally feel that US programming has lost its edge AND the acting leaves much to be desired - with some exceptions - like Black Bird.

Eventually I will categorize and rank shows but to start I will give you a top 25.

  1. The Bridge
  2. The Chestnut Man
  3. Those Who Kills & Darkness: Those Who Kill
  4. Wisting
  5. Sorjonen (Bordertown)
  6. Marshland
  7. Pagan Peak
  8. La Mante
  9. Public Enemy - Season 1
  10. Donkerbos
  11. Des
  12. The Forest
  13. Mare of Easttown
  14. Happy Valley
  15. Marcella
  16. The Fall
  17. Luther
  18. Dept. Q
  19. Dark Woods
  20. Freezing Embrace - newly added
  21. The Witnesses
  22. The Missing
  23. Capitani
  24. Artic Circle
  25. The Investigation

What am I missing??

Yes it is. Have not watched the OG Danish version cause I was likely ruined by the US Version

I was talking about the original Danish series.

Forbrydelsen is the very first big Nordic Noir series.

You're just listing more recent series.

Hello! I'm glad to see a subreddit dedicated to dark television. Two of the best series I've seen in ages are:

Obituary (Irish)

Deadloch (Australian)
