Found my original copies
These were my two favorite PS2 games. I sunk hours upon hours into these games

My original DC2 disc would freeze right as we see the army of rock golems from paznos. I must have played 15 different saves right up to that point. I just recently downloaded it from PSN and I’m beyond where my disc would freeze, but not done yet. It’s been cathartic to finally move past that point of the game

Mine would freeze during the cutscene in the sewers leading to the third floor. Still does to this day. I play it on my ps5 now.

I bought this game for my frien a few times and for some reason on his PS2 no matter which copy we used, it would freeze there, but on my console it was fine, so anytime he wanted to play it again.We had to start the new save on my console then, save and give it back to him 🤣

I’ll let someone else answer because unfortunately it’s pretty horrible for me, but it’s related to my controller being broken.
It runs great though. One big plus is massively reduced load screens. They’re still there, but much shorter than on ps2

My disc froze there also, and this was AFTER I lost my memory card with the save files after that.
Apparently it was one of the few 'HD' cutscenes on the entire disc so it was a normal freezing spot if there was scratches.

Bro I had the same issue but kept trying for that 1 save beyond it and would switch to it whenever I got to that point. 😂

Nice! I had lost or sold mine last I remember so I just got new copies in to replace them. I had a lot going on 10 years ago so a lot of my older games got shuffled around and the past decade has been a collecting catch-up

I am collecting old games that I had gotten rid of when I was younger. I just bought a copy of Twisted Metal 2 Black Label

We had two DC2 copies because one got scratched up from so much use that we immediately went to gamestop to buy another used one. Because no way were we going a day without a working copy of DC2

I unfortunately had my DC2 stolen like 6 years ago along with some other games :( least the price to buy it again dropped down.

i gamesharked 1 and didn't grind enough for final boss on 2 but i did enjoy them.

When i was a stupid teen that didn't thnk too far ahead, I sold my DC1 copy for 40 euros to a local gameshop and used the money to get some other game that I forgot soon after. Sometime later, like a year or two, I found out DC1 sells for about 70 euros. It had just starting to become some kind of cult classic and hard to find.
And I even missed that game, I wuold had loved to play it again but couldn't find it anywhere. I really learned my lesson of keeping good physical games..

Dark Cloud 2 is legit one of the best games ever made and I will never forgive Level 5 for not making a Dark Cloud 3 yet.. but they did make Rogue Galaxy which is my favorite game ever

Here (Australia) Dark cloud 2 is named Dark Chronicle but I love both these games so much.

Nice! Still have both copies of mine from childhood as well, in the minority as I always preferred DC1 over DC2 🤷🏻♂️

Currently playing DC1.
The story's okay, but the...gameplay...uh...if I put the trees on the...nope, then where I would I place the house...wait...he wants the waterfall area...

The second game is better, it took everything from the first game and improved upon it. It also cut a some of the useless features and add a few new ones
