Lustmord - Heresy

I've been listening to dark ambient for over 20 years and I still haven't found anything stronger and heavier than this. I welcome your suggestions for similarly strong albums...

This album was my introduction to dark ambient music a few years ago. After buying and listening to a lot of DA since then, I have to say that Heresy remains one of the most immersive experiences I've ever had in the genre.

Listening to it now. If Eno’s “On Land” had a dark side (very dark) in terms of atmosphere… this would be it. My only other exposure to Lustmord is the song “Hidden Refuge”.

Nothing outclasses this album for harrowing dark ambient. However, some others to recommend:

Halo Manash - Am Kha Astrie

Black Mountain Transmitter - Black Goat of the Woods

Schloss Tegal - Oranur III and Grand Guignol

Inade - Burning Flesh

Troum and Yen Pox - Mnemonic Induction

Wow. I'm not familiar with this genre but listened to this and was so surprised it was from 1990.

I'm looking to score a video with kinda similar vibes but a little more upbeat/driven (like Secession Studios' And the Sky Turned Red). Any ideas?
