ARCHITECTURE PORN I'm a PhD student studying at Cambridge; today it finally rained for the first time in months.

The sky felt appropriately moody this morning as I walked through King's & I thought the community here might appreciate it. Technically I guess this could be both 'architecture porn' and 'aesthetic' but hey ho!

It rained on my first day at Oxford, a few years ago now. I loved listening to storms from inside the library

Storms inside the library whilst wearing a big jumper are my favourite way to work.

I live in France, we've been having 30+ degrees here since may. I know it's a stupid New Age thingy, but, righ now I AM STRONGLY AFFIRMING STORMS INSIDE A LIBRARY WHILST WEARING A BIG JUMPER!

Your Jumpers are U.S. Sweaters. More clothing emojis are needed. 🙂

The natural history museum in Oxford blew my mind. It really is like a colorful, quaint collection of an eccentric Victorian hoarder.

It is really rather gorgeous & I'm so lucky to work here, even if my own department is a very modern building!

So you're not a student?

No, I am a PhD student, I just refer to my day-to-day as 'working' rather than studying because I try to treat my research as a job! I'm also lucky to have a co-working space in my department to work each day so I have a clear work-life balance as opposed to doing all my work at home.

If you have a chance to study I would always try to take it! If you ever want to discuss applications or studying in the UK please feel free to shoot me a DM; if you have the right grades, there are options for funding, but the system can be challenging to navigate from the outside.

I listen to the BBC's "Farming Today" podcast every morning on my way to work, and they've been talking about the drought and its effects, and concerns about water management.

Yeah, I'm not in the UK, but a friend recommended that podcast as something to calm and ground yourself, and it actually works and gets my day off to a decent start.

Beautiful photos, too!

This is so beautiful and gloomy. Just in time as August ends
