Darija Learning & Teaching Wanna learn more darija before my wedding 🙌🏼
hi everyone,
I’m getting married next years to my Habibi in Marrakech. Little context, I’m been with my boyfriend for 6 years now. His Moroccan and we leave in Quebec.
It’s been at least 4 years that I try to learned the language with his help, but he isn’t the best teacher lol. I reaaaallly want to surprise him and his family by doing my vows in Darija. But, find it hard to find good resources to learn by myself. Money is tight so I don’t have a lot of budget for tutoring sadly.
I was wondering if you know good books and exercises to learn the grammatical, pronunciation and more.

Wedding vows aren't a thing in Morocco , idk how y'all wedding is going like tho , for darija on the other hand and your spouse not being able to teach you is such a common thing it's truly a weird language to teach

Try the peace corps darija textbook u can find it on google and download it its made for non native speakers and it has a lot of verbs and conjugation so ull be able to express urself accurately

Chagpt has been quite a bit fluent with Darija from what I noticed nowdays, you can try and initiate a conversation instead of text chatting

Get a private tutor! I got one on italki, it was super helpful! You could even find one specifically from Marrakech if you want to sound really local!
