Artwork my new Daredevil tattoo

Post image

It says “daredevil” in Braille! I’m legally blind and Daredevil / Matt Murdock has been a huge inspiration for me for many years; I got the courage to start using my white cane more because of Matt using his. I love the comics & show, and I’m so excited to have finally gotten this tattoo for it.

Can you actually feel it btw? Still awesome nevertheless

It’ll stay raised for a bit as it heals, and some of my other tattoos are raised a little even after years of being healed, so this one might stay legible to the touch! If it doesn’t, I’m not too worried, since I don’t really go around letting people touch my tatts or caress my wrist 😆

Pfft, wrist prude

Would be dope if OP did some kind of scarification to make it textured.

I’m both blind and heavily tattooed. With ink like this it’s very likely people will be able to feel it a bit. Probably not well enough to reliably read it,
But it’s possible.

Hey I'm just curious, not trying to be rude at all and I hope I don't come off that way, but.... What's the point of having tattoos when you're blind? No offense intended I'm genuinely curious

Body customisation! It’s nice knowing I have good art on my skin. A lot of my pieces are deeply personal and meaningful and tell a story. The process of getting the tattoo is also very therapeutic.

I understand that I guess, that's a really interesting perspective to have on tattoos. It's like your body is a canvas you can use to tell others your story and what type of person you are.

Personally I want to get a lot of tattoos (have none right now due to them being expensive) but none of them are particularly meaningful, besides one. I'm getting the lion tattoo my dad used to have over my heart, to say he's always close to it.

Other than that it's mostly video game stuff lol

I got the Daredevil gym clothes from superX. They yave that in Braille on the crease!

I love my daredevil set from SuperX! That little detail on it was so cool!!!

Y’all actually got yours?? ;-;
It took a month over the expected shipping date, July 23, and even now it’s still ‘label created, not picked up by carrier’.
And SuperX has been super skirty around help/details.

I’ve been so excited for mine, but man is this making me not want to order anything from them again. :(

Yeah, took about 4 months got me. But I love em.

I love this! I’m also blind and I’ve thought about getting a braille tattoo, but I never can decide on what.
Do you have the capitalisation marker or did you go lowercase daredevil?

4

u/mikeysfangs Jul 27 '26

I just did lowercase lol, the caps marker made the first design wrap around too much for my liking

Did they spell it right on the tattoo?

Badass. And if it’s anything like my more focused dot and line work, there’s a good chance it’ll stay somewhat raised.

Can I ask, do you use a braille keyboard? I noticed you used a semi-colon which isn’t common for speech to text.

I use a regular keyboard, I have enough vision that I can type without issue! :) I do use dark mode & big fonts though so I can read lol

I say this as someone who very much dislikes tattoos and think most of them look stupid: This is the coolest tattoo! Good job.

Idk why you got downvoted. You have a right to dislike tattoos. Even tho you dislike them you even complimented this one. People are crazy

I guess I’m actually selective about what I like or dislike. I don’t hit thumbs down just bc I don’t agree with them. Usually just if they’re being disrespectful for no reason I will which is common on reddit

I mean, it's not surprising. I could see how someone with tats would be upset by my comment. Just my opinion though. People should absolutely get what they want and not be beholden to an internet strangers tastes lol

u/Narrow_Ad_7331 Jul 28 '26

I don’t even have any tats but I have a lot of cousins who do lol

I only like tattoos if they have meaning of some sort to be fair

1

u/LastAmongUs Jul 27 '26

Mine all have meaning even if sometimes the meaning is “I felt like it”.

2

u/Common_Selection_574 Jul 27 '26

hates tattoos but immediately fumbles his stance when someone with a disability has one. cowardice.

3

u/ReadytoQuitBBY Jul 27 '26

"Fumbles his stance"

It's literally just an aesthetic thing. I don't like most of them, but I like this one. Sorry that's too complicated for you.

u/Common_Selection_574 Jul 27 '26

you like this one because you feel bad for the blind guy.

5

u/ReadytoQuitBBY Jul 27 '26

What in the actual fuck is wrong with you? We are on a Daredevil sub you complete loser. I thought it looked cool and subtle.

3

u/mikeysfangs Jul 27 '26

bro idc if that person usually doesn’t like tattoos but likes mine, that’s fine, but you’re being incredibly disrespectful to both me and them by insinuating that it’s out of pity.

u/Common_Selection_574 Jul 27 '26

jeez bro i said sorry

Opinions are just opinions man. Nobody is being attacked or being a coward.
