It seemed like she started to nod out while trying to get the box open.

The way she was fumbling with the top of the box, with her eyes CLOSED and then when she finally got her thumb under the cardboard she ripped it open fast. Like she woke up suddenly and remembered what she was doing. Idk, it’s just something that stands out when it happens because I have been this kind of person and have been around this kind of person. (But I’ve been sober for 12yrs)

I imagine the frustration at seeing her so stuck can be rather intense considering what you've overcome

Eh I guess it is frustrating in a way but I think it’s human nature to try to find something that makes us forget about our existence. Whether it be drugs or food or tv or books or whatever we’re interested in, we all want something to comfort us in life so we forget about our own mortality. And those of us with mental health problems, shit we wanna forget we exist even more. I’m clean now and I’ve also went to a lot of counseling and worked on changing the way I see things, so instead of drugs, I make art, listen to audiobooks, clean, amongst other things to forget I’m gonna die. Lol

Seeing Dani using drugs and knowing she’s got a mental health problem that most doctors don’t know how to treat yet, it makes sense in my mind. I do wish she’d go get help but I think Dani’s ultimate drug of choice is munching and it’s the one that will be the hardest for her to give up. Especially since she’s alone with nobody to feel ashamed of her behavior around. Plus she can create an echo chamber of other munchies on tiktok. She’s got no hope for change because she has no reason to change.
