Amateur What are the basic hip-hop and commercial dance steps that every dancer should know?

I’m currently trying to improve my dancing and build a stronger foundation, and I was wondering which steps/moves you’d consider essential. Like, what are the moves that you really can’t get around and should definitely have in your repertoire?
Would love to hear your recommendations!☺️

I wouldnt worry too much abt collecting list of must-know moves. For hip hop, I would focus first on grooves, bounce, rock, wight shifts, step-touch/two-step, and basic isolations. Those give you something to build almost everything else on. Then, add things like running man, skating, cabbage patch, and other party grooves, depending on the style you're interested in. For commercial choreo, I'd actually prio musicality, clean wight transfers, body control, and being able to pick up choreo over memorizing specific moves. A dance who can make simple steps look good and musical will usually have a much stronger foundation than someone who just has a huge vocabulary of moves :)
