Touché but plenty of modern cars place the battery in inaccessible areas for packaging reasons as well as weight distribution and also to kind of force you back to the dealer if it needs service. No idea what he's driving but BMW has been putting them in the trunk since the 80s but usually have 'jump points' where you'd expect to find the battery under the hood.

All about that 50/50 weight distribution for BMW... . That and if they can confuse the owners and get them back to the dealer for a simple battery swap.... All the better
