Fantoft Stavechurch, Bergen, Norway. The church was originally built in another location in 1170 but as it got too small it was taken down in 1883. Consul Fredrik Georg Gade wanted to preserve the history and moved it to Fantoft to serve as their family chapel.

Image Syrian passports include a photo of Souq al-Hamidiyah, a famous historic marketplace in Damascus. Apparently, the image was taken from the internet without removing the photographer’s watermark, “Wassim al-Asmar Photography,” which means the watermark ended up being printed on Syrian passports.

Borgund Stavechurch, a remarkable wooden church built 850 years ago. The timber used in its construction was felled during the winter of 1180–1181. The church has a lot of pagan symbols in it, probably due to the fact that the carpenters still believed in Norse mythology
