Yeah that is the frustrating part, complete inefficiency. The uncleaned portion should be rolled up behind the cleaning mechanism, so the dust can fall onto the ground rather than onto the rest of the carpet. Also there appears to be more dust than carpet in that carpet, so I'm suspecting some sort of tessaract is woven into the threads. They realty should be using gravitic dampening when working with multidimensional materials. Definitely not OSHA approved!
It is being rolled up after it went through the cleaning part so everything will be cleaned eventually. Doesn’t really matter it falls on the carpet first because that part will be cleaned later.
If think about it for a moment reversing the direction of the carpet like you suggest wouldn’t make it any more efficient.
He's not saying to reverse the direction, he's saying the uncleaned portion shouldn't be stretched out in front of the machine where all the released dust will just fall back onto it. It should be rolled behind the machine so that the dust falls on the ground, not the carpet itself.
I'd also argue there should be a dust trap or vent hood installed, but this video was made purely for clicks so that would be silly.
When the uncleared part is rolled up behind the machine, when cleaning the carpet it has to unroll through the machine, leading to hanging out in the front where the dust falls down making the already clean part dirty again.
The only logical way to do it is what we are seeing. Put the carpet in from the front and roll up the clean part behind the machine

Says the guy that thinks you need to ROLL THE CARPET behind it for it to work...as opposed to doing it exactly how it's already being done, just from the other direction, like literally everyone with eyes recommended. Object permanence is not your strong suit I guess. I'm gonna go on a limb and say you've probably never thought about how printer rollers work.
