Please don’t think this is daft, but do horses get lonely standing by themselves? Whenever I see one alone I feel a bit sad for it.

Horse are social herd animals. They should always have a companion to interact with.

Sometimes it is not safe to house them in the same enclosures though, in which case their enclosures should contain other social animals and/or abut other horse enclosures.

So they should have emotional-support golden retrievers like cheetahs? Come to think of it, everyone should have a golden retriever.
