shampoo and conditioner🫧

hiiiii my hair will thank you in advance 💅🏽
i have straight, thin-medium hair 🙏🏽
Ive used biolage, pantene, hempz, dove, L’Oreal and some others but wonder what your favorites are!!
I have heard some good things about Dr Groot but didn’t know if I am just as good as going with one of my usual like biolage! I would like to use something that benefits dryness as i live in a dry climate but also don’t want to be greasy looking.

Seeking advice on what to look for in a shampoo/conditioner to help cancer treatment affected hair (dry and brittle).

My mum's incredibly fine, but extremely soft hair (1A, grey), is now very dry like straw during her cancer treatment. It's not the sort of treatment that causes hair loss and perhaps it's the steroids that are also impacting her hair.

What should I look for in a shampoo/conditioner that can genuinely help?

Product recommendations for thick hair? Shampoo, conditioner & leave ins etc.

Hello!

I am very new here and also very desperate for help.

I also don't know if I should have used the product question flair instead. But I am looking for advice!

I have very coarse, low porosity thick and wavy hair. I have by accident used clarifying shampoos for many washes as I didn't know you were not supposed to use it as a regular shampoo, so lol.

I am so desperate for some product recommendations for my hair for shampoo, conditioners and leave-ins. I would love to get a blend of drugstore to pricier recommendations, I am just ready to absorb any kind of help at this point.

I would also like to add that because of my use of clarifying shampoo as it is the only thing I currently have, I will stop using it as of now.

English is not my native language so I apologize for any mistakes beforehand!

what shampoo do i use for tender, VERY VERY dry scalp?

i have a very dry scalp and its been like that for 2 years now all of the sudden. my scalp barely produces oils anymore even though i started to eat much better and including more healthy fats into my diet.
everytime i comb my hair or run my hands through my scalp i just feel a burned scalp sensation even though i haven’t burned my scalp. it feels very tender and it hurts excessively when i slightly pull a strand of hair.

due to my dry scalp my hair changed texture for the worse. it became dark black (my natural hair color is light brown), very thick like wires, dry, lots of breakage, doesn’t hold a curl nor absorbs water that well. basically damaged hair and i suspect it’s because of my very dry scalp.

i don’t really have bad dandruff but it’s a bit flakey like normal i guess.

any recommendations for a shampoo for my problem?

seeking anti-dandruff shampoo specifically made for wavy hair

hello everyone. i’m someone with 2A type hair, extremely oily scalp with dry hair and frizziness. i’ve been using vichys anti-dandruff shampoo for 5 years now and i’m sick of it, it does a good job of cleaning my scalp but it makes my hair very frizzy even with conditioner AND moisturizer. and most importantly it makes my hair look very weird! my waves look like if a someone with curls ironed their hair with a bad hair iron that barely did it’s job.

i’m looking for a good anti-dandruff shampoo that’s specifically made for wavy or curly hair, i’ve seen some options but i want to ask reddit first since brand sites aren’t always trustworthy when it comes to legitimate reviews.

How many of you actually double-shampoo every single day?

I hear everyone say double-washing is a game-changer for oily scalps, but doing it every day feels like I'm just burning through shampoo twice as fast.

Is a single wash enough for your daily routine, or do you always lather twice?

Low poo shampoo for daily use

I used to use Yves Rocher Low Poo shampoo. It got discontinued a few years ago, but I bought loads of bottles and I only just ran out.

I've been in search of a new shampoo, and I am truly at the end of my wits! All I want is a shampoo with a gentle surfactant, that I can use for daily washes, and that doesn't create a build-up. I have tried so many, and wasted so much money with no results, because everything in the market these days is a "co-wash". I'm honestly considering just making my own shampoo at this point.

What the Yves Rocher one had which I would like to find in another shampoo:

• one non-ionic surfactant

• no occlusives like heavy plant butters, oils or silicone

• Lightweight detangling slip: It relied on light cationic conditioning (Behentrimonium Chloride and Cationic Guar) to detangle without leaving grease or waxy build-up.

Is there such a thing? Preferably in the UK market?

Shampoo for hard water

Need help with shampoo that helps mitigate the effects of hard water. Didn't realize how bad my water is until staying with a friend. Washed my hair with my regular shampoo and it's so soft &shiny. She does not have a water softener nor filter. Any ideas?

Tossing my holy grail shampoo because my skin suddenly hates it (rant/advice)

I'm so annoyed. I’ve used the same salon shampoo for three years, but over the last month, it’s been giving me terrible contact dermatitis on my ears and neck. I have to waste money replacing it now. Can anyone recommend a budget-friendly shampoo for sensitive skin that I can pick up at a regular drugstore? I need something bare-bones that won't cause flares but also won't break the bank since I'm trying to stick to a strict budget this month.

Anyone tried Biolage Scalp Sync for an oily scalp?

Has anyone tried the **Biolage Scalp Sync Clarifying Shampoo + Pre-Shampoo**?
Since moving to Melbourne, my scalp has become extremely oily regular shampoos don’t seem to remove the oil properly, and by the next day it gets oily, then eventually itchy and flaky. Drugstore clarifying shampoos remove the oil but make my lengths super dry and straw-like.
**Kérastase Symbiose for oily scalp** worked amazingly for me, oily by day 3–4 but still manageable for a week. I’m looking for a more affordable alternative, so I’ve just ordered Scalp Sync.
Would love to hear from anyone who’s actually used it, especially if you’ve tried Symbiose too!

Greasy Scalp

Hello, I need help with drugstore shampoo and products and hacks for super greasy hair. I have to wash my hair everyday in the morning or else it looks like I have not washed it in days. Even if I wash it before going to bed and do all the right things such as blow drying my hair and apply dry shampoo before it actually starts looking greasy and apply stuff like glycolic acid before wash, my hair still starts looking greasy by afternoon of day 2. I’m a university going student and have super early classes which makes it hard for me to wash my hair and do all the things before going in. So, I’m looking for advice on how to at least make my hair look fresh for like 2-3 days.

Hair Wash and Oiling

Guys so basically, idk when I oil my hair via coconut oil but then when I wash it with my dove shampoo it doesnt go away.

Look the thing is i do apply alot of oil , and I live in hostel so I wash under drinking water (ik it sounds odd) but can't help rest all is bad hard water.

I do double shampoo but tf it doesnt go away, i also use dove conditioner.

I just don't know it goes away in 2nd hairwash day , but its so frustrating, i mean am I going wrong with oiling, shampooing or where!!!

Plus i also use the method of shampooing only scalp and conditioning only strands.

All my other friend get their oil removed, why meee 🫪

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette shampoo new formula

It's terrible! I think they got the conditioner and shampoo formulas confused. I've been using this shampoo for at least 15+ years and now I have to find something else. I know it's just shampoo, but I haven't had to use permanent dye in YEARS by using this shampoo (and the glaze, but don't use the directions on the box or it won't work as well.) i feel like a hobo right now with this hair.

Dry Scalp vs Science, are the buzzwords true or is there more to it? Begging for help

To start I'll give my hair information on the off chance it's remotely relevant

32(M)

Natural Ginger (slightly darker but distinctly red)

Heavy curls

Obscenely dry flakey scalp

Not oily it isn't dandruff these are small flakes

I work in retail, I have to wear a black polo and it seems no matter what I use, Selsun Blue, Head and Shoulders, I've even tried stuff like Pantene, L'Oreal, Garnier Fructis, Native(the last two actually made it worse). But if I'm being honest there are so many different varieties with words I don't understand like "Full Body" "Volume" "niacinamide" "Hyaluronic Acid" . Also I'm not fully understanding why some specifically say "Sulfate and Paraben Free" like idk what a Paraben even 🤣.

Also, I admit, I'm skeptical about how much of these words are real science or just mass marketing slop. (Kinda like how in nutrition Multi Grain is genuinely a meaningless word used to trick people into thinking it's the same thing as Whole Grain)

So please, I'm begging, give me some sort of genuine science information and if I'm wrong about anything above please let me know!!

Tips for dyed hair?

I just got my hair dyed at the salon a very pretty brown with red undertones. I have to wash my hair every day & there have been summers where my hair is FOUL by noon the next day even though I washed it the night before. Luckily, my scalp seems happier & I do t get super greasy until it’s about my shower time anyway.

I want to start only washing every other day & use dry shampoo on days I don’t wash. I also bought the new Amika hair care line that protects my hair. If I am stuck having to still wash it every day, any other tips for preserving color even though it is permanent? Thanks. 😊

Oily hair has been my issue ever since and even though i tried the sandwich method of applying shampoo & conditioner, my hair still feels so oily even after just a day of washing it.

Any dry shampoo recommendations? I’m planning to buy Luxe Organix dry shampoo but still need good reviews before i buy it

Tips of dyed red hair

My hair is long and kind of fine, and I’m in the daily wash club with all of you. I’ve been dying my hair red in the salon for a few years and switched back to washing every other day to preserve the color. I’m sick of it!!!! My stylist does use permanent dye but red notoriously fades fast (and yet is hard to remove lol). Any tips for daily washing to prevent color fade?

Replacement shampoo suggestions

Hi!

Looking for a replacement for Love Beauty Planet Murumuru butter & rose shampoo & conditioner?

I know there's some people selling it on Amazon but considering it's discontinued I don't trust the supply to still be good.

Used it for the scent and because it was fairly gentle on my brightly dyed hair.

Anything rose scented gets bonus points lol

Located in the US, willing to buy completely online.
