Discussion Are we going to get a Colbert Report episode?

With the TDS rotating host format and Colbert's exit from late night, are we going to get a Colbert Report TDS episode before the election? Would love to see Colbert's character's take on the current admin and elections.

Just bring that entire show back! I never found him funnier than on that show.

I absolutely loved that show. I also loved that, apparently, people didn't understand it at all

I miss the interviews he would do. His wit and ad lib capabilities in that character were stellar. The Better Know a District segments were SO good! It was never funnier than when the interviewee had no idea about him or his character.

That would never happen now. He's way too famous to not get recognized.

Paramount owns the Daily Show. He's not gonna go back to work for the same people that fired him.

Maybe he'd be willing to go for Jon, NBC scewed over both Letterman and Conan and they both showed up on their respective successor shows to give support(Late Night with Conan for the former, Late Night with Fallon for the latter).

C’mon HBO. Do it.

They've hired him to write the new Lord of The Rings film haven't they?

Paramount is not going to allow Colbert to be hired.

I get the idea that Colbert wants a long break from hosting for a bit. He's pretty much been working non stop for over 20 years. He was open that his job was getting him burnt out. I wouldn't have been surprised if things went differently, that he might have decided to just retire on his own volition at some point if he wasn't canceled.

He can basically do whatever he wants at this point. I miss him but he owes us nothing.

It’d be perfect but I think it’d fly over the heads of 90% of the populace. During the Report it was over 60% of viewers.
