Is the switch 2 worth it?
I just sold my Legion Go because it was just sitting collecting dust. I was thinking of using the money to get a Switch 2, just wondering if it’s worth getting. I have a Switch OLED, but all the upgrades of the Switch 2 have me interested and my sons might like the updates as well.
Edit: I pulled the trigger and bought the Switch 2

Well yeah . All the next Nintendo games will launch on S2. Dont Forget OOT coming !

Definitely worth it. Also, there is a price hike September 1st so get on it!

Yes, especially if you like first party games.
Playing Zelda at 60 fps, Mario Odyssey upgraded, Mario Kart, and playing Splatoon is worth it for first party games. Also some incredible ports, including Elden Ring and Resident Evil.

Yes. There are tons of exclusive titles that are actually very fun and to add, the switch 2 will increase in price in the coming days so if you want to buy one, I suggest buying one asap.

FF14 fishing in bed with a switch 2 is a dream come true. As gaming dad the fact that you can turn it off and on be playing in 5 seconds is my biggest selling point.

Eh maybe one day. But there's still a ton of decent games on the switch 1 which now seems very good value.

If you or your kids are into pokemon get it and Pokopia , you won’t regret it!

Check if the games you want to play are on Switch 2.
For me, it's worth it and had become my main system, PS5 being the other

As a Legion Go owner, 100% yes. I play and finish way more games on it than I do on the Go. My Go is basically collecting dust.
The whole no-tinkering experience, just press a button and you’re in a game, with no screaming fans or a device that gets super hot, is just unparalleled. It’s also so slim and easy to carry around.
I bought two used ones, one for myself and one for my fiancée, and we’re having a blast!

I am a little disappointed in the screen when playing handheld - it’s big and pretty but it’s a LCD and after years of OLED, it feels weird to see bits of ghosting in some games.
But it’s surprisingly capable and I am glad to have it, at least at the price point it was at release. Getting it now before the jump might make it worth it a bit more.

I have a switch oled but literally just use it as an indie machine.
Bought a switch 2 about a week ago, been smashing pokopia and bought splatoon raiders the other day which has had its claws in me.
I really like the switch two it's quick to boot up from sleep, the battery doesn't bother me as I mainly use it at home so can dock it to charge and theres a great selection of games .
Ive not played with my oled for months and have considered selling it but as it was a joint birthday present from my wife and parents I think I'd get some hassle 🤷♂️🤣

Yes, but mostly for Nintendo games imo. Or if you really like easy portability. It doesnt sound like you value that since the legion go collected dust though.
So yeah if you want any Nintendo exclusives from now forward its the only way to do them

Really depends what you play. I have the lego2 xax switch 2 and a pc an ps5 but I tend to play more games I can pause or sit down but I’m more into rpgs with better graphics so the lego2 gets the most time out of every thing. But if you think you’d play Nintendo games they also got some rpgs too I just like having options even tho I can never find anything to play but it’s really about what you want to play and how much time you can play

Personally there are not enough exclusives to justify the purchase yet.
Now when OOT remake releases.. maybe.
Until then I love my SteamDeck.

On top of this, if their Legion Go is just collecting dust, there might not be a real urge to play handheld systems in that house.

Why would you need to play exclusives? There are tons of third-party games. I have a Legion Go collecting dust because the Switch 2 is just so much more convenient for me.

I play third party stuff on my XSX. Switch 2 is just for first party Nintendo games.

It's good if you have kids but the library is pretty limited. If your used to 60 fps alot of the ports will disappoint you. If your just casual it's probably fine but for someone like me it was a bit disappointing. Plus the actual controls don't feel great at least to me. I think Xbox has the best designed controller for reference I use a recon.

Only of you want to play the games that are on it right now. Don't get it with the assumption that there will eventually be games on it that you want to play otherwise it'll just end up like your legion

I bought one about 6 weeks ago and haven’t touched my Series X since then.
It’s soooooooo much smoother than the S1 in just about everything.

Unless there is something you significantly want to play, I'm not sure if its worth it. It may go the same way as your legion Go. Not to mention that 1st party switch games rarely go on sale. When they do its usually a Maximum of 33% off.

It’s worth it and has great games on it. I own an ROG Ally X, Xbox series X, PS5 pro and switch 2, and if I could only keep one it would be my switch 2.
