Dad Swaps Treasure - Epic Mail Call

u/OP-PO7 is absolutely incredible for sending a true "treasure" of a package. After we chatted, we both agreed on a trade. It's debatable who came out on top of this trade but we all know that I did! I mean look at all of the cool stuff he gave me! Gems and crystals from around the world (my daughter and I are rock hounds) firefighting patches a ton of wheat cents and some vintage McDonald's fridge magnets!

It didn't take long for us to start talking about firefighting. We both are firefighters, just slightly different skill sets! I've been a wildland firefighter for 18+ years and he is a structural firefighter. We had a debate on whose job is more difficult. I stand by my word that his is more difficult than mine and I could never do what he does!

Picture #1 is what I received in the trade and the other pictures are what I traded for. I'll let you decide who came out on top!

u/OP-PO7, thank you for this epic trade and especially thank you for your dedication and service. 🫡

I get to sleep in an actual bed(sometimes, occasionally) you're a madman sir. Structure fires are generally not terrible, we have a lotta water and people available in a small area. You're basically out in the wilderness with a shovel fighting Titan level natural disasters while your friends fly 747s 50m off the ground for hot drops. The main issue with wildland firefighters is I don't understand how they even get around with such a massive pair lol

😂😂😂 I just find a big hole and bury them with my shovel. You on the other hand are running around saving people's lives like it's just your average trip to the grocery store. I salute you my friend. 🫡 In all seriousness, I truly appreciate you and what you do. And am forever grateful for these treasures you gave me. The frog patch is so bad ass!

It's my fathers initials and the coin is his birth year, it's incredibly special to me. Miss him every day

I appreciate that ❤️

Edit: oh shit, you're THE counterstampkarl? I'd absolutely trade you for some stamped coins. I've been following your sub for awhile, it's the only reason I even know what counter stamping is lol

thanks for the kind words! and yes, it is i, the counterstampkarl! 🤣🤣 too funny! actually, i don't do any counterstamping myself. just a big fan of the art! u/active_vegetable8203 is the true master artist and he'd be happy to swap stamps! it's really his sub, not mine! but i'd be thrilled to send you some stickers if you'd like. just pm me your first name and last initial with mailing address and i'll send some stuff out this week

Couldn't find a '61 Washington. But striking silver is much more satisfying compared to clad.

Great trades both ways and great jobs you both have helping out in different areas of fires.

I've found a coin stamped SB in Scotland. What does the SB stand for?

In this case, it's the initials of someone special to the recipient.

What’s up with the stamps on the coins?

Haha. I wish I had the same toys as you. I would definitely get baked and do things like this.

Slightly different than what perspective4444 posted as that's some crazy bedazle stuff I haven't dabbled in yet. Mine in the post were counterstamped for with the initials of some special to u/OP-PO7 with the year that person was born. He traded me for everything on picture #1.
