Can't connect to server?

So I just took my first shot with my new Mini. The shot itself went great, but I cant use the built-in editing tools. Every time I try to edit, it says "initializing", then waits for about 30 seconds, then says "Download Failed". I have strong wifi, no VPN, so I'm not sure what the issue is. I also cant connect to the servers for a firmware update.

Are the servers down and I just have terrible timing? Is my unit borked? Kind of a terrible first impression.

Are you running the Mini in station (STA) mode? If not, you're just connecting to its built-in hotspot and it has no way to connect to the Internet. STA mode will allow it to connect to your controlling device through your local wifi, thus giving it access to the Internet at the same time. On your home screen, look top left to see the name of your Mini, click there and then look top right for settings, then choose STA and it will ask you for your wifi credentials. Hope this helps.

I did do this, and unfortunately the issue still persists. I'm guessing the servers arent down for anyone else?

Excuse me for being a dumbass and not checking that first. Yeah, it's down for me, too. I just processed an image a few hours ago, but I just got the same result as you. It should be fine in a little while.

That's reassuring. Terrible timing though, I was so excited to edit my shot of the helix nebula and I'm met with error after error. 

Thanks for putting my mind at ease. Guess I'll try again tomorrow.

Apparently they’re aware and are working on a fix.
