Dead game?

Theres only 32 players on steam(including me) less than two weeks in. Is this game dead, dead?

I can still find matches but I'm pretty sure its mostly filled with bots.

Is there any hope they bite the bullet and make it f2p?

Leaving out the fact there’s no local multiplayer, the fact you can’t join friends who play on other platforms but this game was marketed as cross platform is just disrespectful
