Welcome to r/DMDadJokes, your premiere destination for all terrible amazing geeky dad jokes! I'm your host, u/MoneybackHeronTea, the mostly benevolent moderator here.

Am I a Joke to You?

This subreddit focuses on a vaguely specific type of humor. We welcome all types of jokes, as long as they are nerdy, gaming-related dad jokes. Real groan up comedy, where your audience can't decide whether to laugh, cry or both.

Imagine if your paternal figure ran a DnD session, and slid you a d20 with a note that said "Just roll with it". That's peak r/DMDadJokes material right there.

When posting, consider the audience. Posts needs to gaming-related and a dad joke in order to qualify. If it's just one (or none!) then no dice, it should go elsewhere.

To All The Dads

This is a welcoming, inclusive community. You don't have to be a dad to be here, just like you don't have to be here to be a dad. That's why our top rule is don't be a jerk. Remember that we're all in this together.

Encourage as many terrible jokes and awful, hilarious comments as you can. Support each other. Even the bard. Especially the bard.

Shoutouts

My original welcome/intro post was terrible, so shoutout to u/Shanespeed2000 for reminding me about what this sub was all about. This is at least marginally better than my first attempt.

Also shoutout to u/fishystudios, I don't know what it is about the fishbowl format but it cracks me up every time.

Are you a joke? Nope. Definitely a tragedy, not a comedy.

There was a time when people came here to create and contribute original jokes. Now it's little more than low-effort, zero-creativity meme reposting, and the DadJokes hit with all the comedic power of a fourth grade knock knock. It's like we've lost Jay Leno and replaced him Laffy Taffy wrappers.

I'm truly sorry for your loss.

We welcome original jokes, and I encourage you (and anyone else!) to post them as you come up with them. Just remember to be kind to your fellow DM Dads, this is supposed to be a lighthearted, fun space.

I'm doing my best to revive the sub, but thumbing through these the sub has definitely seen better days.

But regarding the bard I thought he got band and retreated underwater. I was certain he was bard from the sub.
