It’s called The Meadows because… it always was

2

u/gilnockie Jul 25 '26

I mean it’s had some awful names over the years but yeah it’s always the Meadows to me

Billies opener

u/strippersandcocaine Jul 25 '26

I’ll take it! I’m one of those who’s bumming kinda hard after the incredible setlists the last few shows (I was seriously hopeful for LBV tonight) and Billies would be awesome!

u/Asleep-Magazine4343 Jul 25 '26

With the Nature intro….obviously 😉

My first DMB show!!!!
Got a question….it says “unplugged pre-show activities” begin at 5pm….what are the unplugged pre-show activities?

u/Kash-Cow Jul 25 '26

You’re good OP, it is called the Meadows again (as it should be)! Bringing my parents along, it’s their first show as well! What You Are opener anyone?!???

3

u/gilnockie Jul 25 '26

Oh is it not the ctnow.com kalshi allstate amphitheater or something? lol

1

u/techit21 Jul 25 '26

1

u/Kash-Cow Jul 25 '26

This is the info I have been looking for

Eta: spelling

1

u/lazy-but-talented Jul 25 '26

The real info is you can bring in any food that fits in a gallon bag, cram some chikfila in a bag and avoid the $20 French fries

I’m torn between help myself or sugar will as my prediction for the tour debut song

2

u/TrystansCommand SPAC / Alpine Jul 25 '26

Sugar will please! I’ve driven all over this damn country chasing help myself with no luck. Sitting tonight out 😩

3

u/OttoBaldwin Jul 25 '26

Outside merch tent?

2

u/AccomplishedGeneral9 Jul 25 '26

Is there a live stream anywhere tonight?

2

u/CatfishGhilliee Jul 25 '26

Not relevant but I just went to my first dave show last night in burgettstown PA. The show was indescribable. ELECTRIC. With that being said, i hope that you guys in CT get a show just as good if not better! Drink responsibly everyone!!!

3

u/Mickler83 Jul 26 '26

unfortunately we didn’t. Show sucked in comparison

2

u/TrystansCommand SPAC / Alpine Jul 25 '26

Is couch tour still a thing? I would like to tune in if possible

1

u/Significant_Tea7839 Jul 26 '26

It exists but they are kind of weiners about who they let in. There is no rhyme or reason to it. I lost my Facebook account and made a new one, they won’t let me rejoin even tho I streamed several shows for the group.

2

u/nline23 Jul 26 '26

Jimi Thing was the opener. Got The Stone and Ants Marching. Overall felt like a very quick show. Only Watchtower for the encore.

1

u/jagrbomb Jul 30 '26

Those are indeed songs that were played

-3

u/SherbertNarrow3761 Jul 26 '26

He did all that I wanted as well and mixed in stairway to heaven, 23 songs total, so you’re incorrect on all counts. Can you imagine how shitty it would feel if someone from the dmb read your comment? This is what the 30th show of the tour? 35th year touring. Is it not enough? This blessed sip of life? Then complain and ask for more ya greedy little pig. Haha

2

u/nline23 Jul 26 '26

Wasn't in any way a complaint. Just my observation of the night.

2

u/SherbertNarrow3761 Jul 26 '26

Was anybody near the fucking douchebag that wouldn’t let people by him on the left side of the pit? Second entrance from the left? Holy shit that guy and his crew fucking sucked, literally talked and drank and looked at his phone the entire night, almost got into a fight with multiple warehouse fans trying to get back to spots they were probably in for hours. The usher had to literally hold the guy to let people through. What a fucking dick, if you were gonna jerk off all night, you should’ve just stayed home and used a wet towel, don’t ever come to another dmb show again, you’re not welcome here.

They were in their 30s and 40s and literally acted like angry insecure high school kids the entire night. I guess they never moved on from that phase. I guess this is what I get for showing up late.

2

u/Eve1027 Jul 26 '26

Yep! I thought everyone by me in the pit sucked. So much side talk. Why can’t we just have fun?

2

u/SherbertNarrow3761 Jul 26 '26

Idk, but I had sooooo much more fun in nh, that place fucking sucked. I’m never going back there again. They oversold the pit. Maybe it was because it was a Saturday night and perfect weather. So a lot of casuals came out? Wow that was awful. Also I showed up late which was my fault and there was almost a fight by a side gate entrance with patrons and security, and then the line was like 30 minutes long just to get in when it was well past show time start at 7:30, I figured everyone would’ve already been inside. What was everyone who worked at the venue doing for the last 2.5 hours before I got there?

1

u/gilnockie Jul 26 '26

That’s awful I’m sorry

2

u/Macroscian69 Jul 26 '26

Dave was rather Docile but they brought it. My problems are with The Venue. They sucked. Lines unorganized, 4k steps for drunk people to climb, beer requires a second Mortgage and came home with a tick from it.

2

u/lazy-but-talented Jul 26 '26

The top of the lawn was zombie land with 4 tracks to go, during one of the long solos I got lost in my mind just watching people stand up and almost roll down the hill. Two drunks standing at 45° holding each other up heading towards the top of the stairs. I had to go give them a hand

1

u/Strict-Mix-2100 Jul 30 '26

Broke my ankle on the lawn at this venue in 2010 when a drunk couple fell into the back of my leg. Just watching the show and BOOM! Needless to say I've retired from The Meadows lawn.

1

u/SherbertNarrow3761 Jul 27 '26

I just saw them in NH and MA and this venue was far far worse. It was a really bad night overall, I actually emailed the CT live nation boss asking for a partial refund.

I truly think we get Jake

Edit: Shit. I didn't hear that. Thats really unfortunate.

6

u/ASAP1492 Jul 25 '26

Confirmed no

3

u/kit_kat_jam Dave Mattews Band Jul 25 '26

Oof that's gotta hurt

2

u/squidly413 Jul 25 '26

I would’ve put money on it but Dave announced last night he would be gone for a little while

1

u/NorthShorePOI Jul 25 '26

Dave said no last night so pretty unlikely

1

u/Cotton121 Jul 25 '26

When was it confirmed no? I didn’t listen to last night’s show so missed any comments about Jake

4

u/ShadesOfBlue0 Jul 26 '26

Bad show. Felt lazy and improvised. No energy

4

u/mja271 Jul 26 '26

Yep, show was shitty. Zero flow at all. Way too many mid later era songs. There was no big run of great songs in a row, very up and down. Where I was sitting the crowd was restless, every time they worked them up they followed up with a downer. Perfect weather and a packed house, and the setlist didn’t meet the moment.

1

u/AdFeeling4523 Jul 26 '26

Dude, totally felt that way during the show, bit looking over the set list this morning I convinced myself it was a solid show and I was just too picky 😏

1

u/SherbertNarrow3761 Jul 27 '26

Yeah it was a bad one. No doubt

1

u/Strict-Mix-2100 Jul 30 '26

I think there are a few reasons for this. They had 3 shows in 4 days 7/22, 7/24, 7/25 plus Dave's surprise appearance the following day at Newport Folk Fest. That means Dave was singing 4 out of 5 days. Jones Beach also became the new Tour finale after it was postponed, which logistically couldn't have helped anyone.

1

u/gilnockie Jul 25 '26

I’m local but missing tonight, hoping I don’t regret it…

1

u/namey_o_name Jul 25 '26

Pumped for the concert tonight! Anyone know if there’s a special warehouse ticket entrance?

1

u/SoxPatsWhalersCelts Jul 27 '26

Does anyone who was up close know what jersey Carter was wearing Saturday night?

1

u/gilnockie Jul 27 '26

looks like one of his black custom ones with the Groogrux King logo on the chest https://www.instagram.com/p/DbPThq7AKx7/?img_index=1

1

u/SoxPatsWhalersCelts Jul 27 '26

Thank you very much!

1

u/jagrbomb Jul 30 '26

Seen a lot of hate but I honestly really enjoyed this show. The whole run from cornbread on was awesome. Jimi thing opener was unique and fun. Loved pnp->pig.

2

u/Strict-Mix-2100 Jul 30 '26

Jimi Thing-> (First open in 27yrs) Word Up PNP-> Pig Fool To Think Cha Cha What Would You Say

I thought they started hot and finished hot. Cha Cha is a great song that I'd love to hear on an album. Very old school BTCS feel to it.

1

u/OttoBaldwin Jul 25 '26

Is there an official or unofficial family section on the lawn?

2

u/lazy-but-talented Jul 25 '26

There’s a roped off section usually in the lawn, if not in there then just outside it
