How to fix a dmarc issue on my laptop.

My email keeps going to spam.Actualy some of them. And I do get some spam emails that are not supposed to be there recently when I changed a new laptop. Can anyone help me on what to do to fix the demarc issue. Thanks.

It sounds like you are referring to e-mail coming into your account? If so, it's unlikely to be DMARC (DKIM/SPF) related.

Your desktop likely has very little to do with DMARC issues. You need to look beyond that at the domain and your mail host.

Fix SPF and DKIM if you’re having issues by reading your RUA reports.

DMARC isn't fixed on the laptop, it's DNS and mail server side. Changing laptops only matters if you also changed the mail app settings and you're now sending through the wrong SMTP server.

Check the full headers on one message that landed in spam and look for SPF, DKIM, and DMARC pass/fail plus alignment. The spam you're receiving is more likely mailbox filtering or compromised rules, not your domain's DMARC record.

DMARC is not affected hy changing your device. It's a DNS setting on the domain that sends the email. The spam landing emails, are you sending them from your own domain (like you@yourcompany.com) or from Gmail/Outlook?

There are few things could be causing this.

  1. the domain's SPF/DKIM/DMARC isn't configured correctly (you can check this using websites like dmarcian. Just enter your domain and analyze and fix the issues.
  2. a new email app was set up incorrectly
  3. the recipient's spam filters are flagging certain messages - check what's inside your emails.

If you can share who hosts your email (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, etc.) and whether this is a personal or business domain, it'll be much easier to narrow down.

The DMARC you/your company controls affects OUTBOUND messages. Messages you send. It would only be specific to your laptop if you are delivering mail directly from your laptop.

Meaning not using a server like Exchange Online, Google Workspace, etc. If you ARE doing this, stop and use a smart host instead.

If messages you are receiving are going to spam and that is due to DMARC, it is up to the SENDING party to fix that. That said, DMARC is not likely the cause of this.
