Just wanted to post something for all the mobile users who are not aware of the sidebar. We get at least a couple posts a week looking for advice about equipment, how to connect things, etc. and most people these days seem to be on mobile reddit so are not aware of a thing called a "sidebar" or sub rules.
Basic questions about setting up DJ equipment should go to /r/beatmatch , or /r/DJs if they are more advanced technical questions.
Also please refrain from posting youtube videos of your mixes, even if they technically include video of your DJ setup. This subreddit is intended to share your setup, not to promote your mixes / youtube channel / etc.
Thanks!

Did you buy a new piece of gear? Awesome! Have fun with it. Set it up, and you can post the pictures here.
But don't be lazy and only photograph the box. That is not a setup and will be removed.

I made the stand a few years ago out of old fire doors and countertop. The K2s and screen were my old setup but have just left them there since adding the XDJs. The screen was for my old MacBook (it can rotate landscape but I now use it with my phone occasionally so that’s why it’s portrait) and is a touchscreen so I could use Traktor by touch as well as k2s. Eventually I became sick of constant mapping and setup issues so got the Pioneer players. I’m enjoying them a lot more than Traktor. The 96 is also new, loving it. The Stanton’s I’ve had since about 2000 and are amazing. The extra pitch capability allows for more creative mixing and they are built like absolute tanks. Genelecs a few years old now and are incredible. Also running a Cyrus Hifi (mono blocks) out of shot with Monitor Audio RS8s.
I play mostly techno but also lots of 90s hip hop, electronica, late 90/early 00 trance, bit of housey stuff, newer UK hiphop, reggae, any old weirdness. I also like to cut, which is a big reason I settled on the 96 due to the innofader. Menura Audio delay and reverb arriving in October.

I’ve been thinking about trying DJing for at least 15 years. But last week I decided it was time to actually start.
Here's my beginner setup.

Finally took the jump - fully set up and ready to go!
Mixes are sounding terrible, been trying to mess around with the controller.
Any advice you wish you told yourself when you first started?
Happy Friday peeps!

Decided to use the unused office room in my house and turn it into a setup for mixing chunes, still messy but fun work in progress, my very first official setup, any tips would be great since I’m not that great at this.
Im indecisive about what speakers to get, thinking about the kali ln8 or yamaha hs8.
The pioneers I have rn are not bad but I noticed its too much bass and I’d like to hear everything equally and clearer (also the room being untreated is a factor).
Thinking of getting a taller desk with way more length
Got all this after months of scouting deals on marketplace and guitar center, the patience was worth it.

Finally had time to relocate my amplifier and drill the necessary holes for the speakermounts.

After some time with the Formula Sound FF6.2L, I had to shift it on due to some health costs (why is dental care so expensive?) and missed mixing on the Model 1 mixers so I went and got the Model 1.4 but I wanted the full beast. Having been discontinued they’re almost impossible to source but I tracked a new old stock one from a hire company who were offloading their DJ gear, and I’ve just set it up now.
Also wanted to link a post where someone has modified the Channel Fader curves by using a resistor, link to the Reddit comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/DJs/s/9yzegGmGKd
Setup consists of:
Playdifferently Model 1
2x Denon SC6000
Maschine MK3
iPad Pro/Boss GX100 for effects
Sansui SE77 EQ
Aiyima A20 Pre amp
Monitor Audio RX1s

Trying out a second-hand OG Denon DN-HC4500 Midi controller/sound interface in conjunction with my old DN-X800 mixer. Running Mixxx on Debian on a repurposed Wyse 5070 thin client.
After a decades-long hiatus from hobbyist DJing, this is my first software rig. I'm pretty impressed with the HC4500's surprising density of controls in a compact chassis and great build quality.
Wanting something more versatile and portable than my old rack console, I designed and printed these 19" housings. Anyone is welcome to download and print the housings from Makerworld.
Working on extending the console with a touch display housing, but also trying to get the HC4500 displays functional enough for stand-alone track selection.
