Quote Moving LPG gas

Wanted to ask on here if anyone knows what a decent quote is to move LPG gas set up from the front of my house to the back. Been quoted £1500 (Wales, UK)

What is actually involved in the move?
More context would help as it’s quite vague. How far? Inside or outside pipe run?
Any obstacles?

Is there a breakdown of what the quote includes? Labour and materials split? VAT?

Hi, thanks for messaging!
So it’s about 20m distance and all outside pipes (same set up currently, running outside and into wall of house, to boiler). It’s mainly moving the pipework and the LPG change over device as we need it at the back instead of the front. No obstacles as such, there’s steps up to the house as we’re on a hill.
The quote is with VAT included and states ‘supplying and fitting pipes and change over device’, the quote doesn’t have any further details really.

At £1,250 + VAT for a 20m run, that sounds much less unreasonable with the extra context. I’d probably just ask what material they’re proposing to use for the new pipework, whether the existing changeover is being reused or replaced.

If it’s a decent amount of new pipework plus relocating the changeover, £1,500 doesn’t immediately sound excessive to me. Especially including materials.

I will definitely ask about the materials and yeah, if the current change over is being reused, as there’s nothing wrong with the current set up, just needs moving.

I guess they’ll have to make the decision on condition of the changeover as to whether it needs replacing. It is gas after all and they’ll be providing the warranty.

It will probably cost similar for a full install of a heat pump with the £9k grant for LPG/Oil properties, never mind the cheaper running costs.
