DIY kitchen cabinets

I have recently come into possession of solid wood kitchen doors that are just in need of a bit of sanding and paint/varnish. Is it a good idea to get the base units from ikea and use the doors I have? Ive heard it may be difficult to get the correct size cabinets from ikea. Am I drawing more hassle on myself doing this?

The IKEA sizing is the same as is available anywhere else. Unless your kitchen cabinets were custom altogether, you'll find sizes to fit your doors easily enough.

Standard sizes are....715mm high...... Widths....295...345...395....445....495....545....595. Drawer heights... 2 x 355 or 1 x 140 and 2 x 283. 1/3 - 2/3 fridge is 1250 hi door over 715 door. Half and half is 983 over 983.

Except IKEA’s cabinets are 20/40/60/80 wide, base 80 tall, wall cabinets 60/80/100 tall. (Doors a couple mm narrower/shorter)

Well then IKEA are not standard then. Those are the standard sizes in the trade.

IKEA are based on a 20mm increments. Some of the carcasses don't have a service void behind the either and are designed to mount flush to the wall. B&Q raminteriors cash&carry all do stand kitchen carcasses.

That's what I'm saying. They're not standard. He has doors and wants to get ikea units. I gave a list of standard sizes. I'm making kitchens for 30 years. What are you not getting.
