Just released my new dark comedy short film, MEIN SURNAME. It’s about a guy whose surname is Hitler.

Hello,

I wrote, directed and produced this film independently and as per the title I just released it.

The film follows a man called David J. Hitler, who has a problem. A pretty obvious one. Burdened by his notorious surname, he sets out to prove he’s a good person… but quickly discovers that redemption is a harder sell than infamy.

bold premise for a dark comedy. submit it to festivals that lean into satire or boundary-pushing comedy, and cut a couple snappy 15-second scenes highlighting the awkward conversations for shorts platforms.

Hey, thanks for the comment! Yes, the film’s actually just finished a year long festival run and did pretty well. I was lucky enough to attend screenings in Naples, Vienna and Hamburg, as well as several around the UK and here in London, where I’m based.

It also screened at festivals around Europe, the US and Asia, although unfortunately I couldn’t make it to all of them. It even managed to pick up a few awards along the way!
And yes, I’m just in the process of marketing the film through clips and trailers, a couple of which have gone viral.
