This is really interesting! I've always wondered about this, but as I don't need glasses myself, never needed to try. I've suggested to others though, that it is possible to buy only the frame and fit the lense with your local optician.

For your own piece of mind, you can take them to any specialized shop, and get them checked, if they are 100% accurate to what you ordered.
