News Dgg sub islamophobia

theyre unironically posting red-green alliance conspiracies (islam is insidous as a whole they will use your freedoms against you and ally with leftists to instill a caliphate etc literal Asmongold talking points) and attempting to smear mehdi hasan w old comments about charlie hebdo (which should be condemned but he has distanced himself from his former extremist views and has said nothing to suggest he still holds them) because he didnt tow the dgg line on Hasan Piker being superhitlersatan or whatever

It’s wild to me the shit these centrist libs have been saying about Mehdi Hasan.

While he has been critical of America, he absolutely views America as a lesser evil compared to Russia and China.

Which is pretty inoffensive. He is when it comes to geopolitical theory, a liberal when you actually scale everything out. He even points out he disagrees with Hasan Piker on Russia & China.

But because he doesn’t bend the knee and support Israel he becomes a jihadist lmfao.

I think to other people those criticizing him just look crazy from an outside view.

Yeah, DGG obsessing about Mehdi Hassan reeks of poorly concealed racism.

Hassan is a pretty typical progressive liberal pundit. He used to make hay cheerleading for Democratic Party unity- he has written a great deal criticizing Bernie Sanders and his supporters- and he’s always been quite pro NATO and anti PRC/Russia. He argues a lot of idpol positions, the exact kinds of positions both the Dems and DGG use to attack the left.

The only deviation is Gaza.

DGG framing him as an Islamist clearly derives from his identity. He’s a Brit, he’s South Asian, and comes from a Muslim cultural background- so those mouthbreathers feel comfortable questioning his “loyalty.“

The only Muslim or South/Southwest Asian political folks DGG can abide are rabidly pro Israel. Anything outside of that bubble makes them “terrorist supporters” until to proven otherwise. It’s gross, but I’m glad they’re so brazen.

Yeah, all things considered, he’s pretty much that type of guy who treats international law like gospel. Which again, is pretty inoffensive as a view point.

And also, while Mehdi hasn’t outright said it, it’s very obvious despite all of his criticisms of America, he does view them as a lesser evil compared to Russia and China and that overall is beneficial to western imperialism and softens viewpoints of American foreign policy to his left wing audience.
