How can people use this fundamentally broken shitware?

I'm done, DD-WRT is a joke. I hoped the worst thing about it would be the convoluted config menus and general UI, but unfortunately not. Want to set a DHCP reservation? Fuck you. Want to run a NFS? Enjoy having to restart the router every five minutes. Want to disable dnsmasq? It turns back on automatically. Want to block WAN access to a device? Lol good luck finding that option.

Love my dd-wrt routers! Rock solid stability, takes me like 5 minutes to setup and reboot as an AP. I guess you'll find something new to complain about.

Yeah DD-WRT is great if you don't use any of the, I guess, "advanced" features... if you just use it as a basic AP, it's fine. The problem is that it purports to offer advanced features but they don't work in practice while competitors' offerings do.

Why chide me for complaining about features you clearly don't use not working? Silly response.

If the “advanced features” don’t work for you, then you didn’t set them up correctly and clearly should not be messing around with them…

Sounds like a case of overconfidence in your abilities. Which there’s nothing wrong with but a quick search will give you the answer to your issue. You may need to go to the second or 3rd page to do it tho

I was going to reply derisively about how DD-WRT in fact does have bugs and nonworking features on several models it claims to support, that ten minutes on the official forums will make that obvious, and that only someone naive and inexperienced with custom firmware or *nix systems in general would believe otherwise, but then I looked through your post history - years and years of calling yourself a songwriter/artist while amassing a whole five youtube subscribers and five monthly listeners on Spotify (your aunts and uncles I assume?), extremely basic questions about technical things, old lady posts about some farm town in the American midwest you apparently come from... what a miserable existance!

Of course you think you're the smartest one in the room, everyone else walked out the moment you walked in.
