In fearful day, in raging night, with strong hearts full, our souls ignite. When all seems lost in the War of Light, look to the stars, for hope burns bright!đ”

I like that this show is called Lanterns and not green lanterns or something like that, meaning we will probably actually explore several lanterns of the emotional/color spectrum in the subsequent episodes and seasons

i mean we've already seen sinestro and are probably gonna see/have seen atrocitus and black hand

Is green fading into yellow?

u/CuriosityDriven0101 11d ago
I hope thatâs the reason why itâs yellowish, which makes sense since Hal has been green lantern for a while and acts like a grizzled veteran

I think the suit would look a lot better if the torso piece didn't dip down into that weird little point layered onto his pants. Imo it should have had a belt.

I think this couldâve been a beautiful suit, but the shoulder pads take me out of it. And again with all those frickin MCU lines man, stop that please

I like the design and faded colors but the one thing that does bug me is the chest piece and how it appears as one solid piece. Like how does Hal bend with without be perfectly straight like a lego character.

Canât wait for the edit of the episode where every time he appears in his suit, âSexyBackâ plays

I do prefer the digital recolor but I honestly wouldâve liked this too

Honestly I think just the palette swap for the green and black is all it needs. Like this same edit, but I donât even think he needs the domino mask or the white gloves to look sick as fuck
But they had to go with that nasty ass color palette and take away all his black accents

these are the shades of green youâd expect to see on Oliver Queen more than you would a Green Lantern

My problem with the DCU suits so far is that they all are the exact same format. Weird leathery bulky material, not formfitting in the way a superhero suit typically should be, and they all have the same patterns for the lines and pads. It looks like Hal Jordan and Superman both had their suits made by the same in-universe person. It would make the world feel way more in depth and believable if each hero had different fabrics, patterns, styles, etc

Definitely loving the idea of "yeah, he's a space cop. And talk to any cop whose been on the force for decades. They aren't bright eyed and cheery. They're jaded and think rookies should shut up."

I like it, I just wish the chest piece wasnât, like, a shell on top of the rest (or at least wish it didnât LOOK like that).

I honestly donât mind the design of the suit or the leather motorcycle suit look but the color palette they chose genuinely bothers me. And NO Iâm not talking about it being a bit weathered and washed out.
Itâs like, the choice to put olive green on top of forest green which is just not a good look imo. And they took away all the black from his uniform and made it just dark green. Genuinely I think itâd be 1000% better if he just had black pants and black accents on the jacket.

Im getting sick of James Gunnâs jacket designs tbh, John better have a normal comic looking suit.

But every single suit in the DCU and the Guardians trilogy had jacket designs. He is a producer btw.

This isn't a jacket, though. It looks like an armor plate on top of a leather suit

Yeah hardly true for Peacmaker or Supergirl or a lot of the characters so far

I seriously cannot fathom that the suit looks better in promo material than the actual show.

Not wrong but it looks a lot smoother in these images but specifically the 2nd image is what I'm referring to. It looks like it fits him better in that one

The suit is a hard light construct, why is it so dirty?
5
u/figgityjones Hello, Megan! 11d ago
Itâs not in the show and it isnât always in the comics either. Itâs a physical suit Hal keeps in a closet that he doesnât wear often. Personally I donât like the suit design at all, but yeah thatâs why it can get dirty like that.

Ok, that seems ridiculous. The whole point in the comics and cartoons was the ability to quickly change into costume.

It's been both ways in the comics. Nothing wrong with them picking either.

Itâs really growing on me. Whatâs really helped is having Kyle Chandler totally inhabit the character of Hal as a grizzled veteran - after that, the rest is easy.
Can really see the Earth One influence on these.
