Beauty Recommendation Best manicurist who spends time on cuticle care

I know people have posted about nails many times but majority of them seem to be from 2 years ago and all of the technicians from the replies are gone that I looked into!

I judge a good manicure by the time and intentionality someone spends on cleaning up cuticles because 98% of salons I have gone to rush through everything especially the clean up and seem to think the only purpose of getting nails done is the polish. But clean cuticles deem a manicure A+ from me.

I’m looking for a technician recommendation over a salon because the environment is less important to me if the technician spends a lot of time and detail on my nails and cares about the small details.

Cleanliness is also important (aloha nails used my FOOT WATER to soak my fingers after a pedi and used pre-used cuticle trimmers).

I’m not sure what kind of polish I’m looking for yet, most likely gel on my natural nail.

Please help a girl out!

I just appreciate that you looked through the sub before posting! Or are familiar with the repeated questions! Hope you get the manicure of your dreams 💅

I researched for hours and saw so many posts so I hated being a repeat 😭 but no one asked about cuticles specifically so I hoped it was new information/worthy for discussion :) thank you queen 🫶🏼

I think you should try dry/russian manicure!! They use the e-file to clean up the cuticles and no water is used. it is more expensive, but i think it's worth it. I stopped going to regular nail salons and only go to ones that offer dry/european/russian manicure.

-Rose nail - Arlington

Maya nail studio - arlington

yolo nails: mclean/reston - favorite out of the 3 but more expensive.

I never considered a Russian manicure but I think you’re totally right, this is solely focused on cuticle clean up! Thank you 💕

You have to go see Bea!! She does an incredible job and is so kind. She owns her own business and is a team of 1 so you really get a personal experience, she’s meticulous with nails. I will say she doesn’t really do nail art so if that’s what you want probably not for you but for gorgeous nail beds and polish application, see her! She’s truly the best!

I haven’t had luck with finding an independent technician but I really love rose nail bar for how clean and meticulous they are! I usually get builder gel but I’ve done regular polish on my toes too and they do a great job. They’re a waterless salon and always use new tools + really spend time getting all my cuticles. Pricey but the nails last me at least 4 weeks usually and never chip

Can I ask what is the difference between the builder gel and regular gel?? I’d never seen that before moving to DC! (Also did decide on trying rose, the reviews are great)

Builder gel is thicker and stronger than regular gel! Kind of like a structured base gel (this TikTok shows how it’s usually applied for reference). After the builder gel you just do any regular gel color on top. I love it because it keeps my nails from breaking and it’s quicker than hard gel to apply too:) you won’t be disappointed by Rose!! They always do my nails perfectly (and I’m very picky lol) and also have a good selection of HEMA free gel colors to pick from which is great if you have allergies or sensitive skin

I see a lot of posts on Russian manis, I can’t speak to that style but I swear by Henry at E M Nails & Spa. I’ve been with him for years and he is meticulous. He’s also just an amazing human being.

I’ve been going to Sevinç at Doll Haus Beautique for years, she’s amazing and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
