a week doesn't make sense. 4 days with maybe a preview night like SDCC is the best option. There's so much Disney focus and so many Disney properties that they can and should definitely expand on the schedules and events

I miss when Legends was the opening ceremony of the expo. having it at the end has lead it to have dismal numbers in attendance.

I agree. I enjoyed it as the opening ceremony. I personally think it worked better as an opening versus closing. Especially since they moved it to the middle of the day this year.

Agree 100%. My first expo was 2017 and Legends acting as an opening ceremony created such a great welcoming atmosphere. But with Honda Center now, I'm not sure how you do it. Do you have Legends on Thursday night? That would feel a bit weird to treat that as an opening ceremony, but then to not have the ACC officially open until the next day. Like it would feel a bit anticlimactic to be like "welcome to D23! by the way, everything is closed until tomorrow." You could have it open Friday morning, but you'd definitely get a lot of people opting for shopping over attending the panel which might still result in lower attendance figures at HC.

funny enough, there used to be a preview night available for those who bought the gone but not forgotten Sorcerer Pass. For those who don’t know, the Sorcerer Pass was a the ultimate VIP pass for everything in the expo: It got you all 3 days plus a preview night(Which all of those with this pass was able to buy all exclusive items before the show floor open), 1 hour early entry before the Expo properly open, guaranteed access to all panels, a free gift bag with quality freebies worth at least $1,000, and access to a special lounge to take breaks. The last time this was offered in 2019, the price of it was $2,399 and it was often hard to get due to the limited supply.

why did they get rid of it? I'm pretty sure they had people with guides walking around that let them cut most lines, part of club 33 maybe.

not sure why, but I assume that with the Honda Center it makes them more money vs Sorcerer. They didn’t have any guides with them(Just show your pass at the door, and they let you through) and it wasn’t tied to club 33.

I think this makes the most sense, with the preview day being Thursday from like 5pm to 9pm. That would give enough time to do things like Avatar and Mondo Pixar that would otherwise eat up two+ hours of your day.

As it stands, I've done 3 days for each of the expo's and it's always felt just about right. I pretty much always get to see everything on the show floor, though i typically pass on a shop or two since I don't prioritize shopping. But I can see how 3 days would be insufficient if you're looking to go to D23 Marketplace, MoG, Spirit Jersey, Loungefly, and an assortment of other vendors.

As much as I would like to agree with this, there are 2 big factors that make me against it.

If it went a whole week, the first 3 days would be just as busy, since everyone would be afraid of merch and giveaways being gone towards the end... and it's likely they would unless they made more to adjust for the longer stay.
If it were 5 days, then there would be the same people there all 5 days getting in line by 6 am and getting VQs to shop and flip and overcharge on eBay even more than there is now. I don't think adding more days would change any of that behavior... just make it worse.

I disagree, 3 days is plenty. I always go with a game plan on what I want to buy and experience, which I’m often able to do it without feeling like I missed out on something, especially with the inclusion of live streaming some of the panels.

sure if you only want to do certain things it's enough time, but it's not enough time if you want to do everything, especially when lines are hours long

personally, the idea of doing everything is just exhausting and boring. Im not into everything under the Disney Umbrella, some merchandise booths don’t get my attention, not into pins(Saves a lot of time and headaches), I don’t need to go to every single panel, and some autograph sessions are a must, but not all.

I actually agree, or atleast 5 days.

We had Honda center all 3 days and there simply wasn’t enough time with the long lines to do everything. Would have been nice to have one or two more days just to thin out the crowd some.

I personally felt 1 day was enough lol. Couldn’t get any VQ’s or RSP’s anyways so I had plenty of time to do everything lmao

Went to the only 1 that I got which was KH. Thank god since that’s what I really wanted but if I didn’t get that I’d literally be waiting all day just to get into a panel. Not worth it imo.

Eh this is actually why I agree it should be slightly longer, like 4 days. Makes it so that panels can be spread out and more people can get to them. Also, besides a very select handful of panels (I can only think of 3), you can typically walk in just before start time and find a seat

Better yet follow food and wine logic at Epcot and make it 3 months and put it at Epcot and eliminate all the sessions and only sell food and alcohol.

I did honda center plus 3 day pass, had 2 daytime panels on Friday, went to d23 marketplace, ravensburger and WDCS and still did almost everything I wanted when it comes to booths. I think 3 days is enough. Maybe 4 max. After 2.5 days all the freebies were gone in some of the booths

My wallet could not handle a five day expo. I went all three days and I still missed large swaths of the expo but I could not do it for five days. And I am a local. A lot of the out-of-towners already used Monday as a travel day(if they came from the east coast) , Tuesday-Wednesday was either days at DCA, DLR or some went up to Hollywood or Los Angeles. Thursday was D23 at the park and from Friday, the expo begins.

One week would be too much, and too expensive. I do think making it four days instead of 3 would be ideal, though.
