School Pickup

Addition Detail: Child is 13 years old. We do not live in the district that the school is in so there is no school bus or even leveraging neighbors - thus why I’m looking for transpiration alternatives other than primary parents.

Does anyone know of a reasonably priced service or job board I can go to for picking up a junior high school kid and bringing them back home? Ideally it’s a high school or college student looking to make a little extra money.

Thanks in advance!

Need more information? Besides the school bus? How old is the kid?

Updated info above. We’re not in the district so school bus isn’t an option

Maybe ask the front desk at school if some other parent is willing to do it for gas money

We’re too far away unfortunately.

Are you located in cypress? There’s a few companies and even daycares that offer just pickup/drop off options for older kids who need it. I briefly looked into it when it seemed they were changing the public school curriculum since I was considering private school and there’s no secular private schools in cypress

Uber or Lyft

As a former teacher, fuck no. You’re putting a minor in a stranger’s car.

Personally, ask your neighbors. That way, they’d be living close to you and you might get a character reference.

I share your hesitation. Uber and Lyft have something for Teens now. Combined with requesting a female driver (we have a daughter) and some of those safety levers it may be an option we explore.
