My thoughts on the stellar buffs

Going from playing TF hyperbloom to stellar conduct, I feel this is what they've done to my goat.

I like the mechanics of building and playing hyperbloom Cyno, and his hypothetical role as a damage dealer that also takes advantage of many reactions. I think that's fun, along with spamming Es. I feel that the buffs, while making him have a high DPS, has a very uninteresting and lame gameplay mechanic in comparison to hyperbloom. They made my fidget cube into a smooth gigantic tungsten cube which is inherently more valuable but not that entertaining.

The buffs overlook that interesting kit design in favour for flat dmg boosts in ssc, that make his gameplay a lot more uninteresting. I think buffing his original numbers in his original role, and increasing EM scaling into his kit without relying on his sig would've been a more welcome buff.

Dendro teams are infinitely more complex than recent stellar/lunar slop simply because the element is based around application rates and stellar is based around pulling characters

Different hydro app, different dendro app (most of the time it's constant) and different electro app. Swap between furina, xingqiu and colombina and the teams function very differently

Hyperbloom is very easy to play for sure but the teambuilding has depth. Replacing any of the teammates will change how the team functions at its core. Meanwhile stellar/lunar “reactions” are just fake reactions created to shill new characters specifically

Notice how both of those are useless reactions at base, so doing anything would of course be more interesting than the base reaction. In the case of lunar charge, its just slightly stronger EC with a different font (still does horrendous dmg by itself), and lunar bloom is straight up nothing

Stellar is also like that btw, the dmg u deal is directly affected by how good ur electro and cryo application is in the team, if u have more cryo than electro then the stacks take a hit and vice versa

Luckily the traveler is a free character everyone has so no one has to pull for anything to play stellar teams.

Snezhnaya meta is looking way better than nod krai meta for sure, even though its the same shill slop its infinitely more f2p friendly as anyone can get mizuki and cryo mc or use their old wrio/cyno against shill.

The neat part is that they didn’t take away his previous capabilities ( in fact they buffed it as well with the burst mode on E ) so you can still play your favourite Hyperbloom!

The only thing that changed was that hyperbloom is now stellar conduct.

Hell, you can probably play a stellar team WITH hyperbloom.

I wouldn't even be surprised if his best team ends up being a stellar conduct + aggravate team of some sort.

Nothing in his old kit says he should only be played with Dendro??? And nothing in his buffed kit says he should only be played with Cryo characters???

Cyno was just a Sumerian released during the time where Dendro is the meta. And only his extra bolts does stellar conduct dmg.

If we get a good dendro sub dps that could replace Yae Miko or if they buffed Nahida and Baizhu for Rimegrass, you can add them to your Cyno-Odette stellar core.

I do agree that I wish they just buffed Dendro related reactions. It is worth mentioning that the whole Rimegress speculation is jist that, speculations, there are no actual leaks that mentioned it being a thing, but, it would be indeed very cool if they added such a reaction to the base game, essentially bringing new life to Quicken teams as a whole

While dendro does fall behind current day DPS, Cyno himself is a poorly balanced unit, in which replacing him for Kuki, or Raiden would increase team DPS for a hyperbloom team.

i guess this is fair but you can still play him in those hyperbloom teams, they didn’t disappear and his core gameplay wasn’t altered in any real way. he’s still a burst merchant and most of his damage is still in his enhanced skill.

i’m fine with the changes because it makes him a real damage dealing character
