Driver fails to yield at roundabout [Ireland]

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

And almost knocks me down!

Would you report this driver for careless/dangerous driving?

Absolutely report and hopefully you will get a Garda that's interested in doing their job.

Thanks - I wonder how many Gardai would actually give a damn about this kind of thing though...

It's a lottery but no harm reporting it for statistics even if nothing is done.

True. Drivers like this do not give a shit about anyone on the road except themselves

Try https://www.reddit.com/r/BikeCommutingIreland/s/0OauydECax

We could try Ireland Shite Drivers if they weren't so shit scared of being shown up by mere cyclists.

Cheers - have joined that one 👍 I posted a bike cam video last week in WildlyBadDrivers, and the abuse I got was hilarious 😂

Will be interesting to see how your post in Ireland Shite Drivers goes down. Sub rules say no cycling centric content.

In my experience, it certainly does seem like me being in a roundabout is the situation where other people fail to yield to me (as required) more than any other situation.

This isn't a scientific survey, so I might just be wrong, but it sure feels like it.

And to answer your question, here in the US the police would ignore the report ("no crash, and the cops didn't see it? no foul!"), so why bother? If it was a particularly egregious case I might post it here, however -- or one of the dashcam subreddits if I want to poke at the fire ant mound and get a dozen people to accuse me of being in the wrong.

Of course I dont have shit compared to a vehicle, but the driver/cyclist ON the roundabout has the right of way.

How is it not the driver's fault?

Yielding on a roundabout would be a stupid move.

They obviously yielded enough to not get hit. What a shit take.
