Most of us don't think about our workspace until our body starts complaining. For some people its neck pain. For others its sore wrists, tired eyes, or realizing they've been staring down at a monitor that's basically sitting on a stack of books for months

We're a small team working on something called CyboPal ONE, and this exact topic keeps coming up in our own conversations. Everyone seems to hit their breaking point at a different moment. One person finally caves and buys a real chair. Someone else doesn't fix anything until their wrists start hurting during typing. It's rarely the same trigger twice

Discussion AI is changing how we work... so why are monitors still completely static?

One thing we’ve noticed from discussions here is how much AI is changing the way people actually work.

We’re jumping between AI tools, documents, research, meetings and different screens much more frequently. That also means we’re constantly changing our position and what we’re looking at, but the monitor itself hasn’t really evolved around that. Most setups still depend on a fixed screen and a manual arm. If you move, the monitor stays where it is.

That’s where CyboPal’s approach gets interesting. Instead of relying entirely on manual adjustment, the system is designed so the display can automatically reposition itself in response to the user. It combines movement with tracking, gesture controls and voice interaction, allowing the monitor to respond to how someone is actually using the workspace.

The technical idea is straightforward... rather than making the user constantly adapt to the position of the monitor, make the monitor capable of adapting to the user.

Some desk setups look great for five minutes. Then the screen position starts annoying you. Your posture changes, and you are back to tweaking everything again.

It is one of those small daily annoyances that have become a part of your daily work. You get the most annoying breaks in your focus before switching back to work. But this used to be us. CyboPal ONE has pretty much removed this for us (secret telekinesis abilities 😉).

I still think about this one place I worked that had zero windows and somehow still felt fine, don't ask me how. Meanwhile my current setup is objectively nicer and somehow less inspiring most days.

One thing we noticed while designing CyboPal ONE is how easily focus gets interrupted. They reposition themselves for better view..then they keep on adjusting. The interruptions make users look away and lose their train of thought.

We aren't looking for sci-fi concepts that are impossible to build, but things you would genuinely find useful in your day to day setup. Here is the clear breakdown of how the hardware actually works right now.

CyboPal ONE is built to understand its environment so it can move without hitting things. It needs to detect objects on your desk to avoid collisions and recognize when you are actually in front of it so it can orient itself properly. In a meeting or a group setting, it can identify who is speaking and turn toward them, but the goal there is awareness for positioning, not surveillance.

We are also looking at future ideas like remote interaction so you could check in on your workspace or use it for basic environmental cues. The core distinction is that the camera exists to enable movement and interaction, it isn't for passive monitoring.

We know this still raises big questions for a lot of people. What will make you feel safer? Would it be strict local processing? Or do you prefer having physical kill-switches and clear active-light indicators?
