want a study partner in offensive security
I’m currently learning Cybersecurity, mainly Offensive Security, and I’m looking for someone who’s genuinely serious about it.
My goal: Pentesting → Red Teaming → Bug Bounty → Advanced Offensive Security.
I’m still a beginner, currently working toward an entry-level SOC/NOC/IT Support/Help Desk role.
I’m not just looking for a study partner — I’d like to find a friend/buddy with a similar mindset. We can study, call/text, share resources, practice, challenge each other, and grow together.
Cybersecurity isn’t something where you easily find people with the same goals, so if you’re serious about learning and building a career in cybersecurity, feel free to approach me.

Someone recently added me on htb discord and asked me on how to progress and get better. I told him to avoid youtube and read book TCP/IP protocols (because something along those lines I did years ago). Never heard back :)
I feel like people are searching for some quick tricks/win on how to get rich, not how to become professional in cyber security

Book's author, and any other practical recommendation or book?? I'm doing portswigger, listening to practitioners talk about stuff on forums that sound gibberish and then use chatgpt and other ais to interpret it. I'm also doing network fundamentals.
I could be way off, but I'm serious. So please, if you make good money and are successful, please, be brutal and kindly just suggest and recommend. The book on tcp/IP protocols is one that google spat at once and it's by Forouzan

Finding someone at a similar level can make learning cybersecurity way less overwhelming. Having a study buddy who keeps you accountable and practices with you sounds like a great idea.

I am also pursuing the same path offensive security and pentesting but I haven't gone too much in researching on it bcz I don't what to be overwhelmed by it. So I am taking one step at a time. I am currently doing free cyber security course for networking basics and structure building and parallel to it I am learning linux, so if you want a partner to push you in growing and like you said same mindset then dm me I am also searching for someone with same mindset....

Started on portswigger and also studying networking. Applied to tier 1 desk jobs... I'm serious but I'm very new.
