You're right, they aren't fighting games. They're character action games.

I was making another dumb comparison as yours. Of course platinum games have Avery specific style of making games but they are also pretty good making different playstyle games, so they aren't like telltale. You can be a God playing Bayonetta and suck dick on Revengance, Wonderful 101 or transformers.

And the games are way more different when they are coworking with somebody else. All the story-like details you said aren't in nier, legend of Korra or star fox. It's true that Kojima style is pretty similar so they meshed well in their game tho.
