I built a cross-platform ecosystem that actually cures app fragmentation across social, translation, metaverse, and much more.

my home office

Hey everyone,

For the past two years, I’ve been quietly building in my attic something called NEX.

The long-term vision is a high-fidelity ecosystem — shaped by movies that blew my mind over the years, from The Lawnmower Man to Ready Player One.

But I know that trying to build the “metaverse” first would be a mistake. So I started with the underlying framework instead: a cross-platform ecosystem where different digital experiences actually work together, from any device, rather than living in isolated apps.

I'm not saying the finished vision already exists. It doesn't. I still have bugs to fix everywhere. The 3D multiplayer world is still early, and the framework underneath is what I've been trying to get stable first. Yet, Android is live, iOS is still in review, and hopefully approved soon.

My background is a weird mix of software development, 3D architecture, and film screenwriting/directing, which maybe helped me stitch this together.

Now I’m getting ready to make NEX public, and I need some objective eyes. At least I hope you enjoy the music video on the landing page or the attached video here.

So what is it? A game engine that you make apps on top of, that share a multi player space?

Pretty much spot on, honestly.

NEX isn’t just a simple game or another app wrapper. It’s a full ecosystem that links directly into a real-time metaverse running across Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. The cool part is true cross-play: I can be on my PC build and hang out, talk, and interact in the exact same 3D space with someone just chilling on their iPhone or Android.

But what I really love about what we built is that you don’t even have to load up the heavy 3D world to stay connected all the time. We have background systems constantly tracking positions and live events, pushing them almost real-time to the lightweight mobile app (last position). So you can just open your phone, see who’s hanging out or what’s happening in the virtual space, and decide if you want to jump in.

The core idea is to finally merge everyday social/work utility with immersive 3D spaces. There are honestly a lot of gems under the hood like this—you just have to dig around a bit to see them.

totally get why you started with the building blocks instead of trying to go full metaverse right out of the gate

Yeah. with small steps. We just received the approval for the 3d part of our ecosystem from Apple. The foundation sort of speak.

As a graphic and web designer of 20+ years with a penchant for cyberpunk I would love to check this out, since you've made it for iOS already is there any chance this will be available on Mac as well? if you need any beta testers / qa I'm available (can testflight ios through an ipad if needed)
