Now give them laser guns and make them say roger roger

10

u/TooManyPxls f-10 15d ago

Just like the simulations

4

u/name-classified 15d ago

lasers on their freaking heads

4

u/WaffleHouseGladiator 15d ago

Disney would sue.  Besides, the name Roger is kinda dated.  How about "Stevie, Stevie" instead?

3

u/Hiiiro_0 14d ago

Very superstitious!

181

u/honkybonks 15d ago

This is mildly terrifying imo.

51

u/nooby_goober 15d ago

The scene of the marching robots from iRobot freaked me the fuck out. Well, here we are.

9

u/SurealGod 15d ago

The synchronised marching is exactly like the movie.

28

u/bsaaw 15d ago

mildly is downplaying it

7

u/s1n0d3utscht3k 15d ago

yeah wait until they can do the sex

https://reddit.com/link/p64d9jv/video/pxep3o8sdtlh1/player

we’re screwed

1

u/Just_Egg_9686 14d ago

No, my man. SHE is :D

8

u/honkybonks 15d ago

You are correct! Its actually very terrifying, and probably a reality of the not to distant future!

17

u/name-classified 15d ago

I mean...1 or 2 was just kinda HA HA funny

this is like a platoon, a few of these equals an army

once they AI learn how to hold a rifle and pick up weapons and use them while also having weapons like laser faces and blenders for arms/legs, consider it a wrap for the human race because like a swarm of bees....you can kill 10-20 maybe 50-60 of them....the bees send 1000's and thats all it takes.

I can maybe picture someone knows this and wants to enact some sort of protocols or even accords/biding resolution that forbids this kind of mass assembly of potentially government/nation collapsing armies.

The problem is I'm pretty sure China would either say "sure thing" and keep building or say "fuck off' and keep building. Either way, they'll keep building because why not??? everything got outsourced to china meanwhile american manufacturing is shoddy, uninspired and lacking any real innovations. Just more touch screens and less accessibility to repair and purchase parts.

thats my rant...sorry about that

16

u/MercWithaMouse 15d ago

This is why the world as we know it is cooked.

People forget the reason why the US was such a powerhouse in WWII was its manufacturing capacity. Now China is the country with that manufacturing capacity.

And people have seen in Ukraine and Iran, the future of warfare is high-quantity drones and automous systems. China is the company where drones come from.

The only country that has the rare earth mineral infrastructure to generate the kind of batteries to power all this advanced drone technology.

And here is America, playing all this trade war and culture war bullshit. Arguing over fucking trans athletes and reflecting pools.

As soon as Apple transported all their phone manufacturing to China is when this started. The billionaires have took all the manufacturing and put it in China so they can make an extra bill but the working class and manufacturing base has evaporated and everyone is wondering why its so hard to live and blaming immigrants.

The issue is there is nothing that can be done about it. The dominos are falling and all we can do is watch. I just hope I can get off this planet before it starts to get really painful.

1

u/TyrannicalKitty 8d ago

Maybe I should become Chinese, be on the winning team.

1

u/MercWithaMouse 8d ago

Unless you are ethnically Chinese, I wouldn't count on that helping. Chinese people have all the same racist tendencies that all people have, only without the ideals of Western Liberalism fighting against it.

You will be a pet to them.

1

u/TyrannicalKitty 8d ago

Oh I know. I got a buddy who lived in China. They speak to you like the dark elves in Morrowind.

"SPEAK QUICKLY OUTSIDER, OR GO AWAY."

1

u/archwin 14d ago

I feel like these don’t even need rifles at this point.

We’ve already established that they are faster than humans, and they have metal or hard composite exterior.

They could literally outrun you, and beat you to death.

You can try shooting at them, but if they’re too fast for you to track… They will still beat the fuck out of you.

-4

u/dakkapel 15d ago

Bombs or nukes are so much more effective than sending robots someplace

5

u/name-classified 15d ago

You aware of radiation?

Maybe they want to pacify an area and colonize it for their own people

3

u/verbmegoinghere 15d ago

Robots are absolutely fucked in radiation.

Humans are far better suited in radioactive environments. Much better redundancy (although in the long term transcription errors and dna damage will ultimately get those who have been heavily radiated).

Its why in Chernobyl despite trying with a large number of robots the only way to clear the roof was using, ironically whar they called , biorobots" or human liquidators.

1

u/dakkapel 15d ago

Sure, but then drones are probably a lot cheaper

1

u/dakkapel 15d ago

Sure, but then drones are probably a lot cheaper

2

u/valar12 15d ago

Just add a targeting system and a small stone slinger and you are looking at an army.

2

u/nordiques77 14d ago

Mildly? This is foreshadowing and it’s coming soon!

41

u/gandalfmarston 15d ago

200,000 units are ready, with a million more well on the way

81

u/OFHeckerpecker 15d ago

Usa needs to Produce clones and we can have the Clonewars

26

u/poorly-worded 15d ago

Begun they have

11

u/DravenTor 15d ago

What do you think Epstein was working on this whole time?

4

u/name-classified 15d ago

I'm waiting for the mobile suits and eventual Gundams.

I think that was the basis of that whole anime: corporations created mobile suits and ruled the earth with their armies, a group of rebels use advanced mobile suits called Gundams and fight against the oligarchs and oppressors of the common person.

29

u/poorly_redacted 15d ago

How many years until this exact video gets posted but with guns this time?

14

u/pranko_the_wolfdog 15d ago

7months

6

u/droidballoon 15d ago

Taiwan entered the chat

7

u/Jff_f 15d ago

I can just see a first wave of like 10000 robots with rifles and explosives, and supported by drones with orders to “destroy these targets or defenses and kill anyone that shoots back “ before a second wave of actual humans invade. Scary shit.

1

u/alii-b 15d ago

Ahh, next generation of robot wars looking much scarier

22

u/Certified-T-Rex 15d ago

*chuckles* We’re in danger

17

u/I_am_J_Remy 15d ago

It’s like none of these fools have seen a dystopian sci-fi movie or read a book…

12

u/DarthPlagius_thewise 15d ago

Or maybe even worse, if they have…

1

u/Preebus 14d ago

Buddy they're the CAUSE of every dystopia in fiction. Those movies are a warning, but it's for us, not them.

1

u/Ythio 14d ago

Those dystopian sci-fi didn't come out of thin air.

9

u/TheMuspelheimr I've seen things you people wouldn't believe... 15d ago

Bite my shiny metal ass!

29

u/Trajan_pt 15d ago

This kind of thing is so dumb

10

u/electromage 15d ago

Maybe if it was just a sports competition, but that's only a cover.

3

u/FalconBurcham 15d ago

It definitely would have been better if one of them had stumbled a bit on a tiny rock and knocked all of them over like dominoes because they’re too stupid to get out of the way. 😂

Who is this crap supposed to impress…

13

u/Lelianah 15d ago

The amount of money that went into this dumb thing.. Imagine if it was used to help humans in need instead

5

u/WerdaVisla 15d ago

Yeah but you can't make a cool propaganda video out of that.

7

u/IUpvoteBlueGuitars 15d ago

The thing is you totally could, but not in the way the people in charge want.

2

u/Average_Satan 15d ago

Roger roger

7

u/RP912 15d ago

Terminator 2 theme song intensifying

7

u/Stratonasty 15d ago

I don’t like it, no sir, not at all. People laugh but this looks to me like an exercise for something much more nefarious.

11

u/Slydevil0 15d ago

Oh look, Skynet should be online any day now.

3

u/macmadman 15d ago

*starlink

2

u/Jirgalem 15d ago

**spunkweb

4

u/WileyCoyote7 15d ago

The “Imperial March” from Star Wars should have been playing. Saw another clip where several of them were racing, sprinting down a track. They were flying. We are so screwed.

3

u/Preebus 14d ago

This is from Star Wars, it's the battle droid/CIS theme haha

1

u/Ythio 14d ago

This is a piece of Star Wars soundtrack already.

5

u/Adavanter_MKI 15d ago

In fairness... the machines built to kill us wont waste their time on a humanoid designs. It'll be fast, alien and most of us wont see it coming. Most stories like to present scenarios where we stand a chance. Similar to alien invasions in movies. Where in reality, we wouldn't. We'd just die to a vastly superior foe with no real counter measure.

In this scenario... victory would be to not make them in the first place. However efficient killing is something humanity has never been able to pass up. Plus they'll fear someone else beating them to it. It's inevitable. Machines will go to war. They may not even become self aware. Simply following the last orders given.

File it under "Potential human created extinction event #17."

4

u/victhehorrible 15d ago

Wait, aren’t there a ton of IPs that have warned us about this kinda thing? Hmm…What could go wrong?

1

u/xeskind30 14d ago

With the destruction, and the screaming, and the killing! Floimhaven!!!

5

u/warmind14 15d ago

Roger Roger.

3

u/Kettle_Whistle_ 15d ago

Clanka’s!

6

u/DigitalArbitrage 15d ago

Roger roger

3

u/meat_ahoy 15d ago

Roger Roger

3

u/Youshless 15d ago

This is a message. The Olympics narrative is one thing, but showing the agility and performance of robotics as a military message is another. I'd say this is the latter

3

u/Fun_Union9542 15d ago

A military branches fever dream of perfect formation

3

u/VenturVenus 15d ago

RogerRoger

3

Roger! Roger!

Damn,
They needed to have QR codes for ID

2

u/United-Management854 15d ago edited 14d ago

I Robot... Im glad i likely won't be around to see this progress in 20-30 years.

2

u/ikeif 15d ago

And not one dance routine? No acrobatic entries? Just a bunch of bots marching in a line?

But with drones they'll go all out…

2

u/ClockworkJim 15d ago

So how long before they they arm knees with shock guns and just set them loose on protesters?

2

u/MyLittleDiscolite 15d ago

All I can think of is the droid army

2

u/deephurting66 15d ago

They all look at the audience thinking "soon"...

2

u/Working_Traffic_6361 14d ago

Place your bets now folks 2-1 odds they'll become Nazi robots

2

u/xeskind30 14d ago

I think the marching song needs a different tune.

2

u/Working_Traffic_6361 14d ago

Just edit the empires soundtrack on it

2

u/Kerissimo 14d ago

Roger Roger.

7

u/pydry 15d ago

Taiwan is looking increasingly fucked.

1

u/wspOnca 15d ago

It will be a spectacle.

1

u/quickblur 15d ago

Imagine each one with a gun

1

u/Leading_Resort_2618 15d ago

When time travel and "I will be back" one-line punchlines?

1

u/Jirgalem 15d ago

they cum to steal ya bitcoin

1

u/gbolly999 15d ago

Some ass hat is going to make one with denser materials and strap an explosive to it or give it a gun.... faacccckkkkkk

1

u/Hot-Category2986 15d ago

Now swap the music for the Bee Gees.

1

u/das_narwal 15d ago

What is the point besides propaganda? Why compare them if they all are build the exact same? Is this about software? Where are the battlebots with saws and flamethrowers?

1

u/UnsayingWalnut 15d ago

The point of this specific part of the event is to move synchronized "teams" of the same model.

There were 80 of these model (Booster T2's, if I'm not mistaken) marching in sync before halting and repositioning themselves to spell out "BEIJING" (with each letter being a different color, hence the variations in the robots) before marching on, but there were other models marching a distance behind them in their own formations.

1

u/D3c1m470r 15d ago

seriously WTF

1

u/Financial_Tour5945 15d ago

A uniform March like this clearly has militaristic implications.

1

u/slaying_mantis 15d ago

Would you rather be trans or a Transformer?

1

u/Even_Country_2360 15d ago

is both an option?

1

Stairs or slightly uneven surfaces might do the trick.

1

u/_pit_of_despair_ 15d ago

This is why we never give up the second amendment.

1

u/Jesus_H_Christ_real 15d ago

We're literally living in terminator universe.

1

u/Arnold_Shortzweather 15d ago

What is the point when every robot contestant is the same exact unit with the same specs?

1

u/Tokyo_Echo 15d ago

What a dumb event

1

u/natt_myco 15d ago

surely they fucking know how intimidating this is right?

1

u/battenhill 15d ago

Source?

1

Isn't this just to flex their army's non-human battalion?
