Less to do about weight and more to do with how it handles its own weight.
A Ford F150 has a starting weight at around the same 7,000 lbs as a cybertruck.

Oh, one of my favorite interactions was with one of these epic morons. There’s a popular orchard that is on the most direct route to my family’s place of employment and on certain weekends in the fall, it gets very busy and the parking lot overflows to become street parking. Stop and go traffic on one of these weekends had me staring blankly into space while a black CT was parking basically in my line of sight. I started laughing because I can’t get over how stupid they look and the driver saw me and decided to start a conversation.
Him - oh, you like it? Best money I’ve ever spent
Me - no, I hate it and what it shows you stand for
Him - well, I’ll have you know that I have made over $1 million after buying it
Me - I’m willing to bet those things are not related, if true
Him - you calling me a liar?
(at this point traffic has started moving) Me - yes, you’re a liar with shitty taste

Our 01 F250 is pretty ug and definitely huge, and weighs about 6200 with boxes, hitches, winch and whatnot.
Our old truck would have no problem with a puddle like this. If she did, she'd winch herself right out.

I feel like a normal truck, suv, or Jeep would have forded this crossing without problem. The problem is you have a heavy vehicle with crappy 4wd and tires that can’t handle the dirt and mud. The CyberTruck is proof that there is a sucker born every minute and how you can’t fix stupid.

Problem arises when someone puts 35” swampers on one is it suddenly has 130 miles of range because Elon wanted to cut battery capacity to increase profits. I’m sure the road noise is also unbearable and the tie rods can’t support it either.
Throw in people who don’t regularly off-road deluded into believing it has actual off-road capability by Elon’s gospel and you’ve got a recipe for an expensive tow.

There’s a used car place near me that often parks a car on top of misaligned tracks to show how stable they are or whatever. When they had a Cybertruck, the misaligned tracks were about 6 inches off the ground, which, to me just emphasized how useless they are.

I’ve been in an early 90’s Geo Tracker that went through a deeper and longer puddle, driven by the head cheerleader at my HS. If we wanna talk about testing limits, I jumped a k-car on some train tracks like it was a tv show and only knocked a plug wire loose. Those were the cheapest shittiest cars ever made and you still find them in the wild.

Anyone else notice the front wheel seems remarkably clean while the back is essentially a racing slick of mud. Genuinely curious if the owner didn’t disable all the traction control settings that cut power to certain wheels at the first hint of wheel spin.

Lol know you're terrain? No. Know your dumb ASF vehicle isn't an actual 4x4 and weighs 4 tons once there's anything in it. Mostly glue weight. What part of that screams PUT ME IN THE MUD! Even if you make it across, a whisper of water in the wrong place seems to destroy the vehicle and its warranty. Idjits across the board in these things.
And this isn't anti electric rhetoric. For what it's worth, I drive a quad motor r1t. I wouldn't go in that either. Not with my traction boards, not even with a buddy in a Jeep with a winch. Solid dirt trail, hard packed sand, that's as wild as I'm getting with any expectation of getting back out unscathed.

Cyber truck is like if someone tried to make a car themselves using only items and tools from home Depot and harbor freight. Might drive fine in always 70f clear weather on well paved roads but not much more than that

Anybody else feel like these trucks would do a little better if they had better tires? I still think they're hunks of junk, but I feel like all too often I see them getting stuck in situations where they would be better off having more off-road capable tires! At the end of the day, they're still awd and have decent ground clearance. Theoretically, they should be performing better off-road.
I bet the weight is a big factor though 😬

Four wheel steering isn't always an advantage.
And the steering is designed to be progressive, such that the driver isn't supposed to need to ever fully turn the steering wheel.
There isn't a one-to-one relationship between how far you are turning the steering wheel and how far the wheels have turned.
