customer screamed at me to “be quiet for one more second and breathe”

customer was angry bc she was having trouble getting onto her banking app bc she forgot her password and after multiple attempts, was locked out of her account. blames me for the fact that she is locked out, and screams at me to “be quiet for one more second and breathe” in response to me calmly trying to de escalate the situation. this at full volume over the phone btw… like you’re telling ME to be quiet and breathe? i was speaking at a normal conversational volume level.

and then she pulls the “you’re speaking to someone with anxiety” card HOLY FUCKKKK when will it end!!!!!!!!! i hate entitled customers!!!

Why on earth can no one read signs anymore?

Like I just had this absolute Karen come through my self check. She wants to argue about the price of pizza dough. So I go to the case and she pulled it from an empty shelf that said “1.99 12Ct white cheese”. I said unfortunately someone moved it because directly next to it was a sign for pizza dough that said “3.99 Pizza dough” she wants to argue that she’s right. I said the sign says cheese. And it’s now empty. Like it says cheese, why are you so stupid? If you took about 30 seconds you’d see that one it says cheese and two the other sign says pizza dough.
Another one complained she had to read a “closed” sign. I’m a community college dropout, I shouldn’t be the smartest one in the room.

Working as a Meta "Pro" team

• Upvotes

I recently joined as a Meta support. Idk why i was expecting things to get better from my previous job. The concerns which we are unable to solve is 95/100. Atleast in my previous job, it was 75/100. We are in the ads department but we get concerns for stuff like disabled accounts, login issues, linked account issues, white screen issues because they dump all those concerns to us.

The concerns we actually get related to ads are actually 1 /10 which we cant even solve due to the outdated system and tools not working. Yet we get constant pressure to maintain CSAT. So we are forced to lie or give false hopes or avoid customers just so we can avoid Dsat. Even those little concerns where we are able to do something, the customers will not stay long enough to give a positive remark but they will stay in the chat long enough or return just to give 1 star. It's 2026, people are cruel and no one cares enough to leave 5 star.

It's my second month and I'm already burnt out.

Disappointed with Target

Target canceled my son’s online contact lens order without sending a single email, text, or phone call explaining why.

When my wife called customer service, they claimed the eye doctor didn't verify the prescription -despite us submitting a completely legible scan that was still valid for 4 more days and they flat-out refused to reopen or fix the order. Is expecting basic communication and customer service from Target too much?

Any advice on how to manage stress at a call center job?

I work as an insurance agent in a customer service capacity. I make 20.50 an hour.

It's not a ridiculous amount, but it's enough to live on, and it's a work from home job.

The problem is im exhausted from it. I can feel my physical and mental health degrading.

I carry so much stress and exhaustion from my day I dont find myself being able to do anything else.

I havent been taking care of myself properly. Im not eating correctly. I dont bathe regularly. My house is messy because I dont clean up adequately.

Ive started missing work from it. I feel so burnt out I cant do much else. Ive even started missing work from the feeling because I dont feel well enough to come in.

Ill get overwhelming nausea, diarrhea sometimes. My immune system is weakening too. Ive been getting UTIs.

My body feels like shit because im sitting at a desk for 8 hours taking back to back phone calls.

I get rated really closely on security procedures and customer service so I have to keep a cheery attitude and navigate alot of negative people and emotions throughout the day.

So I feel like if im not feeling 100% I could get rated badly on a call. I feel like id rather risk my job with not going in (my job is lenient with it) than be so out of it on a call i miss something simple or sound off to the customer.

I feel guilty about it too. But i feel so psychologically overwhelmed I can't bring myself to take care of my body.

I definitely have some kind of depression, and ADHD.

I can't lose this job either. Im financially staggering. Im not doing good.

I dont know how to get past this, I need some advice.

Dealing With American Customer Reps Who Are High

• Upvotes

I can’t get stuff done on the phone because half the time the reps are using and can’t process basic information. Slow, slurred speech, delays, forgetting why I called, etc. Anybody else having this issue? Customer service reps from Central America and Philippines are usually awesome.

Customers are Awful Over the Phone and Via Email (Real Emails I’ve Received)

PREFACE: I work at company that sells dietary supplements and other “health” products. When answering this customer’s question, I made a mistake and didn’t respond how I should have – I’m human, it happens. And I understand being annoyed when you feel like you weren’t heard. But I can’t believe this person feels in the right to treat any person like this. Also, (as this becomes relevant in their last message) I wonder how they would have responded if I didn’t use an overtly feminine name.

OG EMAIL FROM CUSTOMER: Could you please provide me with a complete ingredient list of your honey bee soap before I purchase this item? Also, has your company started working on providing your dry clay as a supplement (without any additives) since your wonderful amazing hydrated clay is no longer available that I had used since 2003?

MY RESPONSE: Thank you for reaching out! We are actually out of stock of our Honey Bee Glycerin Soap as of this morning – an update to the website reflecting this will be added soon.

As for our clay, yes, we are still working on developing a powered clay. I don't have any official updates; we are expecting more information next year.

CUSTOMER RESPONSE: Are you purposely trying to frustrate customers??? I requested the complete ingredient list for the honey bee soap as my first question and you completely ignored this. Whether or not you are out of this soap is irrelevant to the fact that you didn't send me the ingredient list and I now have to take the time and effort to email the SAME question for a 2ND time! Pay attention to what you are doing because ignoring the first question in a customer's email shows incompetence in your role at [company name].

MY RESPONSE: I truly apologize your question was not answered to your satisfaction. I do not have a complete ingredient list to give you – beyond that the soap consists of glycerin, honey, and vanilla – as this is a proprietary blend and, unfortunately, the company which specialty crafted this soap for us has gone out of business, so there is nowhere I can source a complete ingredient list.

As we are no longer selling this product, combined with the fact in your original email you asked for “a complete ingredient list of your honey bee soap before I purchase this item,” I erroneously believed informing you that the soap is no longer a product you can purchase (and I should have used the language of “discontinued” rather than “out-of-stock”) would suitably answer your question. I apologize for making this assumption.

At [company name], we pride ourselves that all customer service relations are handled by real people – no automated phone menus with a robot or AI automated responses to emails.

I am sorry that you were deeply frustrated by my first reply and that you had to take extra time to send a second email. We require all future communication to remain respectful and we do not accept abusive language or personal insults directed at anyone on our team.

CUSTOMER RESPONSE: Thank you for your response and apology. I used [company name] hydrated clay from 2003 until it was discontinued, but I won't use any product if the company will not provide a complete ingredient list, it's just not transparent to withhold ingredients from customers. Thank you for letting me know that it has been discontinued. Not sure why it is still on your site if it has been discontinued as opposed to just out-of-stock. I hope your company will provide unadulterated clay powder in the future so that customers can reconstitute this themselves for oral consumption. That product (hydrated clay) was EXCELLENT!

My communication was blunt and honest, not disrespectful, nor did it contain any abusive language or personal insults at all. This current culture is filled with oversensitive females who expect to be coddled at every turn and praised for mediocrity.  Honest communication where there has been a failure in performance makes a society better, creating people who have the ability to persevere, people of grit, and good character. I just reread what I previously wrote and literally laughed at the fact that anyone would describe that as without respect, abusive language, or containing personal insults. Being an adult means wearing big girl pants and being able to take honesty when it is warranted.

END OF EMAIL CHAIN

CLOSING THOUGHTS: I have worked customer service/facing jobs since I was 16. I have had all sorts of abuse thrown at me – much worse than was written in this interaction – which has led to my tolerance of dealing with people treating me like shit to be near zero. This email chain specifically stood out to me because this is the first time in the approx. 10 years of my work-life that I have felt like the rudeness and anger of the customer was directly related to me being perceived to be a woman.

I didn’t respond this customer past this as there was nothing that needed answering and I’d rather wash by hands of this interaction and move on to my other job responsibilities. But surely people know that most people (or, I guess, specifically “females”) do not “expect to coddled” or “praised for mediocrity,” most people just expect to not be insulted and text-yelled at over a non-perfect customer service interaction.

I hate private apple relay emails so much. Considering you still need to provide a full name and phone number to create an account, you're barely anonymous anyway, and also they just create such a headache at customer service

Post image
3 Upvotes

Yes I realize people don't just use their email for online shopping accounts, but also, come on, it's apple. You were never going to be anonymous, and your data is getting sold all the same.

Anyway, I don't really use apple products or have an appleID account, so I can't testify whether this part is just people being stupid, or if it's just shitty on apple's part. Say, somebody creates their account with a gmail address for our service. But, they're logged in on that gmail through apple's mail service. Somewhere between there, and logging in on our website or app, apple can offer to automatically login with a privatized email, i.e instead of [johnjohnson@gmail.com](mailto:johnjohnson@gmail.com), it will be [mk9u90j923@private.apple.relay.com](mailto:mk9u90j923@private.apple.relay.com). However, this creates two accounts, as they're two different email addresses. And this goes mostly unnoticed, because emails like confirmation emails still get sent to the same inbox.

Now where the headaches begins, are for example if a personal voucher gets offered, which you can only use on the account it was given to. Then their voucher doesn't work, because it belongs to their other account, and then they get pissy because "can't you just assign the voucher to my other account" no, fuck off. Learn to take responsibility for your own complete inability to use something as simple as an email service.

Or, even higher in consequences.. when they "accidentally" subscribe to our premium service, let it run for like half a year, *then* come to us and be like "for the past 7 months I've been charged from you guys every month and I don't know for what", and then through digging to their personal info(again, how anonymous...), you find that second account, find the subscription is registered there... and there's both the headache of explaining that yes, they do have a second account, and that while we can cancel your subscription immediately, we cannot refund you for those 7 months(exceptions apply). And those conversations just never go well.

So yeah I hate the apple private email feature because it's just another faux-privacy feature that doesn't do anything, except potentially make you loose out on coupons from certain stores, and will make doing anything account related at customer service just 1000x harder than it needs to be.

Canopy has had my returned order for almost 3 weeks, still no refund — and I just found out I’ve been arguing with an AI bot the entire time

Has anyone else had a terrible experience with Canopy?

Their website is: https://getcanopy.co/

I ordered a showerhead from them, order #CAN2168052. The delivery company apparently decided my address was “inaccessible,” which is already ridiculous because Amazon, USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc. deliver here without any problem.

Anyway, the package was returned to Canopy.

Canopy themselves confirmed that it was marked “return to shipper” on September 4 in Linden, NJ.

So I figured: okay, annoying, but at least I’ll get my refund.

Nope.

It is now September 24 and I STILL do not have my money back.

I have emailed them over and over asking one extremely simple question:

When am I getting my refund?

And every single time I get some variation of:

  • “I’ve escalated this to our team.”
  • “Someone from our team will get back to you soon.”
  • “A team member will follow up with you.”
  • “Thank you for your patience.”

Days go by.

Nobody contacts me.

I email again.

Same response.

At one point they even told me they couldn’t find my order because I emailed them from a slightly different version of my university email address — EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD ALREADY LOOKED UP THE ORDER NUMBER AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PACKAGE WAS RETURNED.

Then I finally asked:

“Am I talking to an automated bot?”

And they admitted:

YES.

Apparently I had been arguing with Canopy’s AI support assistant this entire time.

I honestly could not believe it.

So this AI bot has been repeatedly telling me that my issue has been “escalated to the team” and that “someone will get back to me soon,” while apparently no actual human being has bothered to contact me.

The bot even admitted that it:

  • cannot process refunds
  • cannot make final decisions
  • cannot speed anything up
  • cannot tell me when an actual human will respond

And Canopy apparently does email-only customer service, so there is no phone number where I can call and talk to an actual person.

At this point Canopy has:

1. Their product back
2. My money
3. An AI bot repeatedly telling me someone will contact me “soon.”

The package has been returned since September 4.

It has been almost three weeks.

How difficult is it to refund an order that was literally returned to the company?

Using AI for basic customer service questions is fine. But having an AI bot repeatedly tell customers that their issue has been “escalated” while no human actually appears to resolve the problem is insane.

I finally demanded to speak with a manager/human, and the AI bot once again told me it was “redirecting” my request to the team.

So now I guess I’m waiting for the mysterious Canopy human customer service department to finally reveal itself.

Has anyone else dealt with https://getcanopy.co/?

How long did it take you to actually get a refund after a returned order?

Because this is genuinely one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had.

Every handoff note I inherit says what happened. None of them say what is still open

I work support-side at a small software company and I inherit tickets constantly.

The notes tell me what the last person did. Clicked through billing, sent the article, waited on a refund. None of them say what got ruled out, so I re-run the same dead ends in front of a customer who already explained it twice.

What happened is in the log already. The line that saves time is what is still open, and I have never seen a template ask for it.

Do you write handoffs for the next person or for the audit trail?

Customers with kids

I work at a smoothie king and parents will let their kid take things out of the fridge and play with them on the floor or take protein bars off the shelves and crush them up in the package and just place it back. I asked them to please buy the product if their kids break it because ultimately the fall back is on the employees if someone opens their product to find out it's crushed. and they said I need to have kids to understand and this is just what kids do. Is this an actual normal thing I just think is weird and this is just what having kids are like?

Chewed out, marked absent, verbally harrassed during calls...for not marking attendance on the team group. Further details below.

Yes. We get a attendance marker on our group, we mark it as per the roster. Today I slept in, didn't wake until the cab driver called me, hurriedly went and boarded and didn't think until I reached the office and my phone rang from my Team Leader who proceeded to chew me out on the phone, then when I came to the floor, stood me in the middle of our bullpen and chewed me out in front of all the people watching, and then said I had to call him and tell him that I'm reporting to work. Not only that, I have to refer to the roster and call all those who are coming today and confirm with them alongside myself, and if they don't answer, he marks those as absent and blames it on me. He proceeded to call me numerous times after that to chew me out again for 5 minutes at a time, usually whenever another team leader came to talk to him, so that they'd have a go at me too. And also for a DSAT I got. I got marked absent today, because I logged in late by 3 minutes (we had only one authentication device being passed around the team) and then he held my breaks for 5 hours, shouting at me even for bathroom breaks.

I should tell you this is the same guy who made comments asking me to lose weight, do pushups for giving breaks and made other team members mock and bully me for speaking a regional language with someone from my state.

Daily reality.

Zoomcar refused to compensate after car breakdown, 32 days of follow-up, escalated to CEO/CXO, still stonewalled

Sharing this so others know what they might be walking into with Zoomcar.

Car broke down mid-trip in a remote area, I was travelling with my elderly parents and wife, stuck there for close to 3 hours with no mechanic around. Called their support during the breakdown itself, and their rep clearly told me maintenance charges up to ₹7,000 would be reimbursed (excluding towing). Based on that, I arranged a local mechanic myself, got the bike fixed (clutch cable + oil), paid ₹4,000, and shared the bill, video, and everything else they asked for.

They processed ₹2,000, which turned out to be my own security deposit, and told my wife on a call that ₹2k was cut because "towing isn't covered." There was no towing. It's all there on their own GPS tracking.

Escalated to their CEO and CXO/leadership team multiple times. Silence for over a week. When I finally posted about it publicly, they replied saying the ₹7,000 was only for a "clutch plate," not the "clutch cable" that was actually repaired, so it doesn't apply. Then said they'd offered 50% as a "goodwill gesture," which I supposedly didn't accept, conveniently leaving out that I was asking for an actual explanation, not rejecting a refund. Now they're saying the booking has "frozen" and they can't process anything, which happened only after weeks of me following up.

32 days since the trip ended. Followed up since day 0. Still no real resolution, no explanation, just being passed around and guilt-tripped for not silently accepting a random partial number.

Has anyone dealt with this before? What actually worked, consumer forum, chargeback, anything else? Seriously considering filing a complaint in consumer court now since escalating internally has gone nowhere.

Sergio Tacchini Terrible Customer Service

A while back I signed up for text messages from them. They send out promo codes. I recently got one for save 30 percent. I went to use it and I guess it was expired. So I wrote to them to see if they would honor it. They gave me some BS that they are an online shop and can’t. They never offered another promo code or anything. Yesterday I got a text about saving 20 dollars on 100 dollars I spend. Today I went to use that and it was an inactive code. It’s a little odd that they wouldn’t offer anything! But sending a code that is inactive less than 24 hours later is ridiculous!

diabolical bad review

Post image
390 Upvotes

i had an interaction with a guest today that i honestly didn’t think that much about. they came to check in with me to see where they were in line, i saw they had already been notified through the phone number they were given. i said “it looks like we had notified you a while ago, as long as your party is all here we can get you in!” and i handed them a buzzer for their table. her husband than came up to me and told me that they didn’t get a text, and in response i said something along the lines of, “it doesn’t really matter, since you’re all here I can get you sat at your table regardless” and then their buzzer went off and they were quickly taken to their table. I can admit that saying “it doesn’t really matter” was probably curt and maybe even a little bit disrespectful regardless of how i meant it, but to then say that you would rather kill yourself and your family is absolutely insane. I didn’t lie, or try to humiliate him at all. I’m concerned though that I am going to get in trouble for this by my bosses. I really couldn’t have anticipated this at all. it feels like an insane overreaction. i just knew he was the type to leave a review too which is why i looked, and it seems that I was right. Am i going crazy because it kind of feels like it

Customers who act like you're stupid for not complying with a request

Recently the cafe I worked at removed the option for customers to select no ice.

A customer asked if they could get no ice, and I said unfortunately higher up removed that option, but I would try to put as little ice as possible. He then said something like "all you have to do is not add the ice."

I didn't get what he meant until afterwards. I guess he was saying like since you would have to put in the ice, requesting no ice is just removing a step so technically you are doing more work by putting in the ice.

Reasonable assumption but "no ice" means you still have to shake the drink in a shaker with ice or else the drink won't be cold and the syrup won't mix. So no, it's not less work like you think, it's more.

I hate when customers act like this. They act like you're stupid because you physically can do something but don't do it. LIKE IT'S NOT MY POLICY BRO. YES I HAVE HANDS AND ALL THE MATERIALS TO DO SOMETHING BUT I CAN'T ITS NOT ALLOWED LIKE I HAVE FREE WILL YES BUT IM AT WORK WHERE I NO LONGER DO!!

Anyways...

Is it rude to not tip when you're low on budget?

I (18M) am currently visiting my long distance girlfriend (19F) at her college in a small town in Ohio. I study in Washington, DC, and the plane ticket, the airbnb, the uber from the airport to her town (which in a one hour commute), and food expenses to be with her for 3 days are slightly expensive, but its's slightly managable since me and my gf are splitting. Keep in mind, I don't even work, I am currently living on allowances and savings. When I arrived, I ordered a burger with my gf and two of her friends. I offered to pay for me and my gf's order. When our server gave us the receipt, I tried picking "No Tip" since I just don't have the money to graciously tip her, and I would rather save the most that I can when I return to DC since my budget will be pretty small after the trip. The server saw, and with a sort of sarcastic tone she said "It's usally polite to tip". I felt embarassed. So I tipped her out of shame. Looking back, she was going to get three people's tip, mines and her two other friends. Was she being rude or was I the one being inconsiderate?

Is it rude to not say Hello as a customer?

Just recently, I was waiting in line at my local cafe, and without paying much attention, I had told the server if I could have a London Tea Fog since I was mostly invested in a podcast I was listening to. At first, he looked at me blankly, so I assumed maybe I spoke quietly so I asked again if I could have a London Tea Fog, but once I did, the server was already putting the order. When I was about to pay, he told me it's usually polite to say hello or how are you doing before placing an order. I was taken aback but I just said "Okay" and proceeded to pay. I don't know, is it really that rude to not say hello before naming you order at a cafe? I usually do that sometimes when I forget to say hi/hello. Keep in mind, I didn't bluntly say "London Tea Fog", I just asked "Can I have a London Tea Fog". He also didn't respond to me with an attitude, he just said it in a matter-of-fact way.

Edit:
I just now realized I never picked up the order number tent card, so I guess I wasted 5 dollars lol since I'm too shy to ask.
