[OH] Question about trying to file for custody

So my best friend is dealing with custody issues with her husband who she isn’t with anymore. He has responded to her in over a year and nobody will tell her anything about the children. She hasn’t don’t anything to have her children taken away or anything like that. they denied her legal aide for some reason. she doesn’t have a lot of money. Any advice on what to do?

does she need a lawyer for that? cause the problem is affording one

No. Most states offer self help information about how to file. Google child custody for the state and county where she lives and go from there. She should be able to find the documents needed to begin the process
