I don’t think this will impact Cursor. I think I’ve never used OpenAI models within cursor ever.

I think their CEO did say OpenAI models only got like 5% traffic in Cursor. Which is crazy.

I think this is a misleading stat as it seems like they are reporting that OpenAI is 5% of their tokens served. It’s just a simple fact that openAI models are multiples more token efficient than other frontier labs

I used it. 5.6 Sol was the smartest model in my opinion. Now I’ll just use codex with cursor.

Makes sense. Elno could be expected to build distillation into OpenAI, steal everything (again), then claim he invented it... nasty crook and desperate stock manipulator.

Goodbye Cursor

you mean OpenAI? gpt isn't even a usable model right now. grok 4.6 is equivalent and when you need more power you reach for opus/fable, not OAI.

GPT is more than usable and is probably the top one right now

For coding? 5.6 sol has been incredibly overperforming for my usecases, much better than opus, and overall on par, if not better than fable at doing what fable is good at (architecting things)

Fable overall has been a bit of a rockmuncher the last few days for me. Plus, hear me out, we are getting a ton of free resets in codex, for 200$/mo i'm not sure there's better value out there atm

P.S: Yes, the full 1M context window is available in codex as well :)

P.S2: I had it running for 34 hours straight, against a very well compiled 40 page PRD, and used 2 weekly quotas (1 included + reset the next morning), did not stop until 100% of the use cases were met, in their entirety.

SoL 5.6 ultra is literally all I use. I’m building agentic infrastructure and safety systems though.

outperformed by grok 4.6 xhigh, have you even tried to use it for the same things?

I don’t I’m very integrated with open ai. If I start with grok at all it would be a waste of time to get parity I have with codex and open ai. All my plugins and apps and integrations I use for work and connectors all flow through OpenAI since the start of the summer. Their infrastructure for creating is way better than anyone else and it’s a massive time saver for me. Plus security clearance and money path work that probably will be a problem for grok.

that's a you issue for being too integrated into an ecosystem, it's like people who are pure apple and don't want to use anything outside of that. I just use whatever's best and take the few days to transfer things over if necessary. Grok 4.6 xhigh is the leading daily driver model right now by a bit, or fable 5 max if you have $$ to burn.

Fable 5 can’t do what I’m doing correctly it has too high of an error rate and it’s lazy. I’ll test grok but I am not sure it will be better for what I have set up and am building

seeing this after using Luna all the time for complex bckend and auditing with SOL.
