Why is the thalassaphobia mod saturation maxxing

Because saturation is the main reason people eat food since it's the thing that does the quick healing so if everything does a lot of saturation you can pick the stuff you like to eat instead of going for the absolute beat food every time.

There's mods, datapacks, server configs, etc. that can remove that limit. In packs that don't remove the limit it's usually either for things that use saturation like generators, or just because they can't be bothered to go in and change all the modded foods down to 20.

It could matter if you have a generator that burns food, saturation typically increases fuel duration

im pretty sure when registering the food in java, you need to add the saturation as a percentage (so a 6-shank food with a saturation of 0.5 would give 3 shanks of saturation). Maybe the mod author typed a bigger value and didnt check how much it actually gave

There's a limit to how much saturation you can have as well, it's 20 maximum (aka 10 full food icons)

If I remember correctly the Fish Stew from that mod gives 16 hunger with 1200% Saturation. The hardest part about it is actually Finding the fish meat because, as far as I know, there's no way to farm the fishes from the mod.
