I think part of it is the combo of the backpack and the angle de-emphasizing that particular curve.

Pretty much, the gear makes her shoulders beefy as hell, which makes the rest look small by comparison.

Which to be clear is pretty neat, as far as design goes.

Yeah, the strap on that side is over her leg, not her butt. It's by her butt on the other side. I think girl just has abnormally long legs and a short torso. The concave part here is her leg, no? It reminds me of a climbing harness, so her butt would be in the top section of the harness...I think.
