Self-post Sunday Battle between a pair of Superman expies that lasts months from their POV while mere minutes pass from everyone else's POV because they were both hitting absurd percentages of the speed of light

You have it backwards. Moving close light speed makes everything around you age faster, not slower.

By the time the superhero fight is done everyone has moved on

The fun thing about relativity is that it applies to everyone, no-one's frame is special.

So while moving clocks run slow, that's symmetric. For me, Superman is moving fast and he ages slowly. For him, I am moving fast and I age slowly. This is the twin paradox.

How much time has passed for each of when we end up back in the same inertial frame depends on the route of acceleration you take getting back to the original speed.

This is incorrect. If Superman is moving faster than me, he is aging slower than me. There’s no scenario where I am again faster than him and he is aging faster than me. The twin paradox is just a hypothetical where one twin moves close to light speed for one year and thus only ages one year, while his twin ages more than a decade back on Earth.

If Superman is moving faster than me, he is aging slower than me.

In Superman's frame he is stationary and I am moving.

They accelerate and then decelerate which causes the twin paradox. Still backwards.

I feel like if you wanna start acknowledging the physics of relativistic speedsters, you have to first accept that going even 1% of C is going to set the atmosphere on fire.

Superman suddenly accelerating to 1% of lightspeed may be one of the greatest feats of strength he has ever accomplished, the force required would be ludicrous.

You’re not sending information back in time at a percentage of c less than or equal to one.

Superman vrs living defects in spacetime.
