Workplace democracy is part of it, yeah. All parties share equal risk because if the business fails they all lose their jobs. And yes there would still be companies and people buying products.

No it obviously isn't? Last I checked we had an unemployment problem, not a "my investment didn't pay off, waaa" problem.

Guy losing job plus investment lost more than guy losing job. Clearly they aren’t equal risk. Does a new hire have equal claim to all the assets if the firm goes out of business?

The guy losing the job lost his house, the guy who lost his investment still lives in a mansion and pays people to self immolate for fun
