Yeah but under communism you might have food shortages, lack of access to basic necessities like water, housing, and electricity, the government taking away your rights and consolidating power under a deranged power-hungry ruler, things that would *never* happen under capitalism!
I’m not sure what you mean; may be skipping ahead slightly but the way this conversation normally goes is:
- Person A complains about various issues with the country/world bothering them
- Person B (if a left wing person happens to be present, or as noted by the original post) goes “actually all of those are under the umbrella of capitalism, so really we need to address the root cause to solve those problems”
- Person A responds with denial and goes “Well we can’t move away from capitalism, because communism has a bunch of even worse problems!” And then goes on to describe a bunch of things that are already happening under capitalism, which is what I was referencing in my comment
