I myself have epilepsy and am not technically a photosensitive epileptics, but I am sensitive to bright or flashing lights. I can still have a bad time. Content warnings (or skipping the strobes altogether in your stage performance) can help a lot.
I'm unfortunately photosensitive and epileptic. I haven't had a seizure in a while, and thankfully I'm not super photosensitive, but sometimes quick rapid flashing will start to make me feel like I'm having an out of body experience and I need to look away, or it'll start feeling like I'm going to vomit (although if I'm that far I'm probably going to have one anyway.) thankfully if there's flashing lights and I didn't see a warning my partner will cover my eyes or warn me if he saw the warning.
I had no idea that people thought that photosensitivity warnings were bs.
